wondered what that little spot on the ground was and saw a nice red fluid on the line... what the heck? onto the creeper to play around thinking that the ATF was leaking from the fittings. lifted the top one and got sprayed (mind you i purposely had it in neutral).

either a plastic insert was missing or the one down there was too far to one side... . over time the pressure line to the oil cooler rubbed on the one below it causing a hole... .

just something to check while you're out (i've heard of the lines running against something else before:confused: )

pretty close. it looks like it's only the top one that has blown. . i've tie wrapped them to keep touching so it leaks slowly until i get some new lines. i can't believe i didn't notice the lines rubbing even though i've been under the truck plenty of times. just another expense

Mine just did this last Friday. I cutout the hole, flared it and put in a coupling, It was then remounted with foam pipe insulation to soften the vibration.

alright, when the lines are taken off, will more fluid come rushing out of the cooler and/or transmission or will what's in the lines just come out?
