Michigan M tags in Florida

2 am ,Alligator Alley FLA. 3 Ram 1500's and a 4 door Jeep Wrangler with the cute taillights like they use on the Compass. Michgan M tags. Manufacturer tags.

thought they were heading back to the Chrysler Test Track which is a few miles from my house but they got off Alligator Alley and headed south towards Everglades City.

how many of you knew Chrysler had a test track in Collier County Fl?

track used to belong to Fomoco and then Harley Davidson, now Chrysler.
my brother was down hhere working in the early 90's, back when he was engineering fro GKN. that was when I learned about the place. would never have known about it

Brake tests at each Gator crossing??? Looks like there might be a few being right off of Alligator Alley and all.....

Interesting. Chrysler had a proving grounds just East/South of us in Wittman. There are tons of FCA retirees around here, and a good friend of mine is a retired engineer who was involved in durability testing, first in Yuma, then here. Unfortunately, when the real estate market was at the peak, they sold this proving grounds to Toll Brothers, and bought a Ford facility in Yucca. Fortunately, it did not get develped into cookie-cutter houses, and there is another outfit testing there now. Rumor is it is autonomous vehicles, etc. We still see a lot of test vehicles around here, but nowhere near like when the proving grounds was local. Too bad, because this town desperately needs good paying jobs.

There is an Autonomous vehicle testing center located on the back side of the old VW and then Sony plant here in New Stanton PA. I belive it is operated by Uber if I am hearing correctly. It has always been a fenced property above grade of the main road so you can't see in. But, since they started, they have guards stationed at the entrance of the access road.
