A blunt speech...from a lawyer!

The other day while servicing one of my MRI systems, one of the technologists mentioned a new MRI system that's being developed. Supposedly this machine can function as a sort of "lie detector. "

Immediately I began to ponder how the results of this "lie detector" test would be expressed.

Since in the cat scanner world tissue density is expressed in "Hounsfield" units, it seems likely that this new MRI system's results would need a scale measured in some standard unit of measure.

Since "Clinton" has become virtually synonymous with "lie", the natural choice to me anyway, is "Clinton" units.

However, given the fact that one "Clinton" is a ponderously huge lie, the scale would have to be broken down into smaller, more manageable units, such as "micro-Clintons. "

Let's face it, most of us are not capable of reaching the depths of prevarication that Slick Willy was and is able to.

For example, if one were to state "that bass I took last Saturday at Owen's Pond was 18" if he was a foot. " Well, that would probably make 5 or 6 micro-Clintons. If you stated that you watched black churches being burnt down in Little Rock in the sixties, well, now you're nearing the end of the "Clinton" scale.

Yes, Clinton and lying will forever walk hand in hand in the annals of history, inseparable and the same.

Do you find it interesting that the very first George W said "I can not tell a lie... "?

Sure. . that statement was made early in his life, but I believe that he upheld that conviction throughout his lifetime and set a precedence for all successive presidents.

here is another

His most important contribution to the presidency will be to our language. clintonian--never capitalized--but added to the popular culture as an adjective, will come to mean anything from 'malevolent' and 'unsavory',to 'lascivious', 'slippery', 'Machiavellian' or 'wicked'. Take your pick. clintonian as an adjective for anything unholy will punish him through his children and their children.

At the top!

One of the best posts of 2001!

One small correction though. When speaking of clinton in a historical context, the correct term is"anals of history.

Ron:)

I remember a kid in the shower in high school had a microclinton. Every one used to laugh at the poor guy. :D

Johnson, Clinton, Bush! Do I see a trend here?
