All of a sudden my default player - for video's, has changed to Nero - how do I change it back - i. e. where is the control on Explorer to "undo" this????
I assume you mean Windows meda player? Go into Windows media player (most likely programs->accessories->entertainment->windows media player) and then pull down the view menu to plug ins and then options, click on file types and then check the boxes for the file types you want to play in media player by default.
yesterday I was trying to copy a video file to my DVD - and it converted it so Nero could save it - which it didn't... . but now when I hit a video - Nero runs it - and I don't like it. Steve suggested that I could convert to Windows media player - and maybe I'll do that - BUT I really like my Intervideo - as it allows you to looop videos and capture individual photos etc. How can I specify Intervideo as my default viewer?
Most players will have something in their menus somewhere to change the default to them. Assuming you are running Windows XP you can go into Windows Explorer and then pull the View menu down to Folder Options. Then click on file types. Scroll down that list to the file extension of the file type that you want to change (. wmv for windows media file for example) and then click on change and select which program you want to open it.
