Difference between Horsepower and Torque

Just picked up a copy of Microsoft's Streets & Trips 2003 at Coscto. $26. 99 at the register with a $20. 00 mail-in rebate for a grand total of $6. 99! They (Costco) have a new feature that allows applying for your rebate online and saves dealing with pesky snailmail.

I've had good luck with MS Streets and Trips 2002, I use it to dump maps to my IPAQ when travelling, has kept me straight every where I've been.

The IPAQ is fantastically handy, I have a folding keyboard for it and now never bother lugging my laptop along when I travel. I resisted PDAs for a long time, but the ability to take along umpteen maps, documents, pictures, books, games, etc in the shirt pocket is mighty handy indeed. With S&T 2002, the IPAQ is the handiest tool I've found since the TRS-80 Model 100 and the HP-41. Especially since it runs HP-41 emulator nicely :p

Will the Delorme product output to Pocket PCs? If so I may give it a look, have heard that it has better GPS support... .

I've been using Delorme's Topo USA (latest version is 4. 0) for years and really like it. I don't own any Delorme street map products so I can't comment on which is better.

I just loaded the S&T 2003 on the laptop and think it's pretty decent. There's always something better, I thought the members would appreciate a heads up on the price.

I also use Streets and Trips with my GPS . I think it's a very good product. The other issue here is that the cost of renewal each year is predictable. Some of the other mapping software is $100. What additional info do you get for the more expensive product?

One disadvantage with the Streets & Trips is there are no updates to the maps. You have to buy the newer versions as they are released. I've been using Topo USA over the years and it's the same story unless I'm missing something. Both products allow for downloading updates on road construction.

The Delorme product still costs me $70 after member discounts. I've upgraded from version 2. 0 to 3. 0 and finally 4. 0 for a total of $240 not including tax and shipping. It's a nice product but $6. 99 for the Streets & Trips is a bargain, even if it's half the product!
