Any Ram guys in SE Florida?

Good Dodge Mechanic in N. Alabama?

Introduced the 12v to Lady Speed last night.

Finally got the gauges up in the 12v. Double Damn ISSPRO and all those silly boxes and wires. Never again. Details if you want them. Look good and work fine.

So with a working pyro (and 20F air) I put the pedal down last night. Went over 90 on my test hill. Then pushed the speedo to 100+, I KNOW that truck has never seed 100mph before. Has now. :D

Now I'm dieng to slide that plate. Have to wait until after ball game today. Better win that game cause this is one BEAUTIFUL morning to be in the woods. And I ain't.

For those that don't know, most folks have to leave home 2-4 hours before gametime to see the kickoff- matters little where you are. We left M'boro at 10am a couple of games ago--which is usually enough--and didn't make kickoff. That's why I ain't in the woods -- that and I got in from GAUGING this thing at 11 last night.

Found a nice warm spot to work on my truck. TDR member Lawrence Russell's place. We popped a GSK in his yesterday. He likey. Found out that he has a #6 plate (on a 180).

Stacks

Mark (got smoke?),

Thanks for the info. on the Westmoreland exhaust stack connection, they had exactly what I needed and at half the price. They even had 5" stainless band clamps. I will be installing them in the morning and hopefully puffing smoke skyward by tomorrow afternoon. Again thanks for the information.

Meacham Evins

:D :D :D :D :D

Really? they had clamps? Well sounds great. Can't wait to see 'em. Heed my advice go above the cab a few inches to help with resonance. ;)

Got a pair of short Miter's in the basement I would have given you, but they both have plastic bags melted to them D'OH!

YEUP, Meacham has stacks! They just about the bestest looking setup I've seen yet. Sound good too. And the smoke:eek: :D

Meacham made me drive it today--really twisted my arm. ;)

Cain't wait to get these smokemonsters in the dyno.

On the 12v. Not enough fuel, can't get the pyro past 1350 with plate all the way up. Bigger injectors/DV's next. by golly.

Looks like I'm going to Lebanon on Saturday! :-laf

Man that thing scared me when I drove it! :--)

Okay, another Friday night blown under the truck.

Got the dern paper towel holder/oil filter mounted and balanced.

Blew a quart out, then I tightened everything.

Now the system holds 17 quarts and is cleaning itself all the time. Should be sparkly new looking by meeting time. It's jet sooty black now at 94,500 miles. Will put new Fleetguard strainer on tomorrow and let the Bounty suck up the soot.

Dern truck has the ibbity jibbities again. I knocked something off or the Blue Chip pump cover needs re-tightening--AGAIN. If that's it, then I cannot recommend the BC cover any more. But then I did forget that it was on there, until now. That's usually a good thing.

Loan Gap some wool socks, his vacuum line is clipped at the firewall. Defrost only.

Don't know where the pointy headed, flop-eared, fuzzy butt deer went. I went to the woods, they weren't home.

EDIT--fixed the ibbities. Removed the pump tap screw and covered it with dielectric, ran it back in, covered it with silly cone. Next time, I'll be a soldering in a new connection.

Hey Wade,

Tell us more about that bounty filter thingy. I have read about those before, but it seems like I just decided that it was entirely too crazy of an idea and dismissed it.

OH, and BTW, we might want to start thinking about hyping up our next meeting. It's coming pretty quick. I'm thinking about adding some stuff in my auto sig about it... . The date, "everyone welcome", and that kind of stuff. Gap said his garage was close to completion

Wade Where is the next meeting and what will we be doing. I would like to get together over Christmas sometime and maybe some pulling. I have lots of questions for everybody on injectors and boost foolers versus the box approach. I want the stock clutch to live but want more towing power.

Mid Tn TDR Jan 10, 10:00 a.m.

Jan 10th 10 a. m. at my house.

Should have the shop done by then. 30 x 30. I am gonna cook up some kind of something. Just got a turkey fryer. Thinking of fry'n up some turkeys or some hot wings? What ya'll think?? I don't care however long ya'll wanna hang out or how early or late ya'll come or stay. We can do whatever ya'll want. I like turning wrenches! I would like us to be a wrench turning chapter!

Any excuse to spit some juice on the floor! I'll have daddys (Reds) puller there. Ya'll can check out the new turbo... . I ain't scared to pop the hood... uh hmm... NICK!:D Ya'll gonna love the smoke show!!!

We need to get to a dyno again sometime. . Dad and I want to put ol smokey on the dyno.

Gap

quickie--gotta beat the rain.

I'll be there with the paper towel truck!

Injectors and fooler--clutch will be much happier.

Dyno in March--or earlier for those of us in development. Somebody want to split a day with me in Jan or Feb? I'll have two trucks to tinker with and we'll be limited to about 12 trucks on the Meeting/Dyno day.

I'll be there for sure. probably bring my brother who just got back from iraq last week. Jamie, my driver, '99 sport qc, and TN farmer, Robert Thornton, who has the '02 Dmax and '98. 5 a ton dodge. white truck doesn't have a trans in it yet. mite bring it to the dyno day though... ... ... . have to think on that. later

Jan. Meeting

HeavyHauler, you still on schedule to get your gauges by the Jan. 10 meeting? I am looking forward to helping on that install.

I am still trying to figure out which gauges that I want. Not one manufacturer offers everything that I want in a fuel, pyrometer, and boost gauge. I really don't want to mix and match the gauges.

Anybody got any suggestions on a set of gauges? Looking for mechanicals that are back lit with the following ranges:

1-1500°F for EGT

0-60 psi for boost

0-30 psi for fuel pressure

Prefer a white face gauge but will take something else.

And I do plan on running fuel into the cab... ... .

gauges

Hewitt.

Hewitt pyro is simple (no stupid junction boxes) and looks good. Hewitt boost is available in 0-50. That's about perfect for our app. The Hewitt pyro is on the job 24/7, no need for DC. The Hewitt boost is more responsive than my Isspro. Both are backlit.

FP? I have a Westach electric 0-16 and it works great, but I don't like the lighting on it.

Haisley's has some Hewitt gauges, but I think they're chrome rimmed. I didn't call. I'd call Haisley's and get them to order black rimmed. They are higher than other places, but I'd demand a discount and even pay more just to get Hewitt's.

Rod used to sell them. That's where I got mine. I'm sure you can find them at places other than our normal vendors.

I absolutely do NOT like the Isspro's. They look good enough, but have over-complicated wiring. Even if you don't seek out the Hewitt gauges, be advise to avoid gauges with "amplifiers" and such nonsense. They make wiring/routing a bigger pain and don't work any better. Another fine engineering deal.

Can you hear me now?:p

So I puts this new turbo on today and the dang UFM is acting up. It's probably the tap connection through the Blue Chip cover again. I just "fixed" it about a week ago "ibbity jibbities". And of course I have a slippy clutch (Peter is taking care of that--when I get the time) too. New sounds, but no FUN yet. I figger I'm going to have to tap the pump wire a different way. The pin-prick style of the BC cover just ain't "getting it done". A 00 gauge cable would suit me at this point. I'll raise sand with Chip tomorrow.

The turbo is a secret R&D project with a regional vendor. I'll name names when the time comes, and you're all encouraged to check it out at the meeting. I'm haven't pushed it yet because it's new and I have other problems. But from what I've seen so far, it spools up nicely and sounds ever so sweet. :D ;)

wade, you'll love the fe. man it holds!

as for guages i like the di procal or autometer. very simple installs. and really easy to see at nite.

had the wierdest thing happen in my 01 tonite. got to the stop sign down the road from my house and it goes into super cam mode. starts loping and stuff. i hit the throttle and everything goes back to norm? anyone ever heard of that? need a new transfer pump. will call the dealer and get one of those on the way. see ya'll in jan. later, nick

The best lope I ever got was when I put the DD3's in. It must have been running on 5 cylinders. Sounded SOOO Cool. Went inside, came back out--darn thing had smoothed out to all six.

I liked the lope.

Dunno about your lope. I'd nervously check for codes.

Cummins gets about 145 for LP's. They'll want your engine #.

370's on the way for 95. Don't know why I ever fooled with less. Anybody got DV's they don't need?
