Here I am

Mid-Tenn Dyno in March

Attention: TDR Forum Junkies
To the point: Click this link and check out the Front Page News story(ies) where we are tracking the introduction of the 2025 Ram HD trucks.

Thanks, TDR Staff

Geez...no chapters up this way???

Just wanted to say hello to all the Mid-Tenn folks..

Bean's Diesel Performance will be host to Dunbar's portable dyno the 25th day of March this year.

It will be an all-make event, first come-sign up to run. $75 3-pulls, 4 trucks per hour-8 hours or more as necessary.

Location is:

1664 Murfreesboro Road (old Hwy 70s)

Woodbury, Tennessee.

My phone is 615 542 1957

Bean's phone is 615 563 7800

Tune in here for further information about vendors and such.

Is there a good place for all the boys to let out their testosterone? If we get all this power on a dyno you know some are gonna want to show off and make some smoke, exhaust and tire style.

Or should I ask, is Beans police friendly? :-laf :-laf

The road is fairly black in front of his place. Meacham started that. :-laf

The old highway is fairly twisty and narrow, be careful there. Just one flipped truck would spoil the fun.

The 4-lane is like interstate, but a 55 zone and state patrolled. Woodbury patrols the heck out of it where it goes into town and drops from 55 to 30. Beans is in the County. The 4-lane does go all the way to Murfreesboro. The Hill going south on 53 is a good run, but not straight and the road is not good after you top the hill. Too many turn outs and blind gulleys.

To be real safe I'd probably use the CB and another dyno-day participant to stay advised of road conditions and traffic, roger? ;)

OOHH, Big Pipes just rolled by--8" straight stacks on a Pete (and he bumped the jake). Dee--Lishus!

don't know if this might be interesting. but if there are a lot of trucks and we just want to do a dodge dyno day we could ask the guys at delk to let us use their dyno. they are located at the superspeedway. very nice people. just an idea.

Btdt

We've done two Mid-Tenn Dyno days at Delk's.

Yes they are fine folks, but we gave their equipment quite a bit of grief last time with some pulling trucks. They simply ARE NOT set up to handle the smoke--my lil' street ride melted the hose they were trying to use. They have jacked the price for diesel trucks and that tells me that they really don't want us to play there.

Plus, we can run more trucks on the Dunbar setup. Faster set up. Even if we wind up inside, the smoke won't be as bad as Delk's. As the shop area is bigger and there are north and south doors.

yes that makes sense. never had my diesel dynoed. just used to dyno the mustang, didn't think about the smoke hehehehehe.

Dyno should start just as early as they get it all set up... Maybe as early as 7, but more likely 8, and then it could be as late as 9. We'll see. ;)

A friend of mine used to work there and was showing me the melted pipe. I dont think thats as bad as ya'll turning the whole bay black inside :-laf . They should have known better than to use ADS black pipe thats used for landscaping.

Mark it wasn't us regular trucks that got it entirely black. It was Nick Hayes and Mike Rhodes pulling trucks on the dyno that finally did it! :-laf

Black'm Out!

This is Nick Hayes run on the dyno that day at Delks! heheheheh I was the lucky camera man.

Images are in sequence, the first 3 shots I was using the light as a reference. The last shot I turned and was shooting towards the bay door that was open!

Meachams Truck

Here's a shot of Meacham ol' 12v truck that shows the door and the light. He hit 489hp/1123tq on that run.

Warming up the globe eh?

Now I've been talking to Ryan over there at there at the Bean's Diesel PREformance, and he says that "The party starts Friday!". There's going to be some RV'ing and camping I suppose. Some hot Fords coming to town. They've got a 6. 0 in there that they're proud of and Bean's truck might be ready--of course the engine is out of BOTH of those rides right now. The pop them 'strokes in and out like it's a regular thing. ;) :-laf

So take out your stops and put in your showerheads--it's a SHOWDOWN!

Heck, the only truck I've heard of getting hot on the dyno--well it was on a BIG DYNO loaded to 20,000 pounds or something--and the dyno op layed on the throttle a bit long and the turbo clocked 2500 on the infrared device :--) Well, we know who that was.

This is a dynojet- I think--and I really don't think it'll heat up Red's truck... oops I gave it away. :-laf

Hey Big M, you gonna have a smoker for the show?

Anybody coming? ROLL CALL:

Me (at least one truck, maybe all three--depending on turnout)

Joe (Mind if HE smokes)

Wade, I'm going to be there (posted above). I was wondering if you knew how much time we would have in between the 3 runs. Do you think we could get 2-3 minutes between each? I'd like to dyno with no electronics (no Smarty) and then load the Smarty SW #9 in and dyno with that to see what the gains really are.

I assumed we would have a chance to do something like this, right? Otherwise, what would be the point of giving us 3 runs?

Absolutey. Yep, that's the point. If I run my 24v, I'll be running it comp/smarty/comp+smarty.

I'll be there. Clutch goes in tomorrow so i should be good to go. For us "dually people" are we gonna have to remove the outer wheels to get on the dyno? Just wondering. .

No Mark, David Dunbar's Dynojet does not require removal of the outer wheels for you guys with training wheels. :p :-laf

By the way where's MY quote?

Hey Wade I will be there... I may even get you to put my name down for the dyno if I have to work that morning and can't make it till that afternoon. Still unsure at this point... ... we start back up on Saturday's 8am-12pm first Saturday of March. little  little Oo. more hrs = more $$$ Oo.
