NC Where are you?

That front page ad that Robin put up for us is really getting us some press. :) I'm getting a relatively steady stream of calls and e-mails.

I think I now need to put a statement out that the prize give-aways are for TDR members only. I've thought about it, and think that is only fair. I don't say that to better any of our chances per se'... but since we don't charge a membership fee, the give-aways are a good perk for TDR members Mid-Tenn and non-mid-tenn alike. That should also encourage others to join up. It is definately money well spent.

Must be present to win of course. :)

Please direct any comments my way.

I agree, Andy. Keep the give-aways for TDR members only. So what kind of folks are responding? Non members in the area? Members that don't post on the Roundtable thread?

Yeah, I don't think most folks know that we have a thread, there is not a link to it from the front page. I've had a couple of non-members e-mail me too. That's great, I hope that they come. I hope that they're excited about what we've got going on and want to join up.

I'm all for anyone who wants to show up, talk diesel, hang out and have a good time. As far as I am concerned, our meetings are open to anyone and everyone who wants to show up. I just think we as TDR members should have a perk for being members. There are CERTAINLY more good reasons than free swag to join up, I just think limiting the giveaways is further reason to be in the TDR.

Someone else is procuring the prizes, so I think he should have final say. I just want to generate some discussion on the topic.

How's about this.

Members only for prizes--and we happen to have a stack of subscription forms--fill it out, give us the money--and PRESTO, instant member. Then we spend the money on a keg... :-laf

Anyhoo, I'm sure Robin can link this thread to the front page. Just axe.

I agree with Wade on this one, we could get some forms printed off, I can do some at work, just let me know how many you all think we will need and it's no prob!!! I wanna say that I have a few there already. Lemme know and it's done.

I feel that I need to ammend this somewhat. There's going to be A LOT of people at this meeting. Hoards of people. The way it's turning out, parking is going to be a serious problem.

Thing is, we need to have prizes available to everyone. What we're thinking is splitting it into categories. A TDR Member Category, and a Non Member Category. Our meeting place is a business, and lots of customers that patronize that business drive diesels. They will be in attendance, and we don't want to exclude them, nor do we want to potentially cause any harm to the business that is so graciously hosting us. There's plenty of awesome stuff to go around. Trust me.

It's gonna turn out great... scouts honor.

Andy, since you're up there in the Nasty--SEEF we can get some donations from Cummins Cumberland. The gave me some hats and insulated mugs a while back. I gave the hats out at our last dyno event. Jim is the guy. Jim's on first shift. They shift change at 4. Then you go in the side/back door. They're open until midnite. ;)

Wade and Andy, I have made 40 copies of the membership form, do you think that will be enough? I can make more if needed, depending on how many you think are showing up to this meeting. Lemme know!!!

i have 50 or so of the subscription forms, i don't feel we need any more at this time.

andy, we should be able to attain the lot next door, so hopefully parking will not be an issue, please consult me if you foresee any more problems an i will help you come up with a solution.

tks.

Heck, I thought my puter was just acting up, I guess he did put that one on there 3 times huh?!?!?!? :-laf :-laf

Joe, I have already made the copies, I'll just stick them in the truck and we'll see what all happens. Thanks for letting me know!!!

Okay now, we need photos and a writeup. Included in the writeup should be the number of new TDR subscribers we rustle up... and whether or not Red gets caught by the blue light brigade. :-laf

And be sure Mark gets listed as a new guy. :p :-laf

Hey Joe, have you paid off the coppers yet? ;) At least your place isn't as close to the Police station as Gap's. I thought I was busted two years ago.

well, I'm for sure going to come. I'm not sure if anyone knows but, Red has been in the hospital. He had surgery, He had to have 6 by-passes done. . I went in and seen him tonight with Gap. I got him talking about delivery valves there for a min. . :-laf Doctors said everything looks good. I didnt know if anyone knew about it or not. Gap has been there from the start, I went and got him and we rode around for a bit , to get him out of there for awhile. We did blow smoke in Nashville :) I think Gap is pretty busy with all that has happened. I'm not sure about pouring phone calls in or anything, but Red is in a more relaxed room now and is now recovering. . I just wanted for yall to keep him in your prayers and thoughts. I know he is in mine. . Ol' Red is tough, but that kind of thing will get anyone down... . Just thought I'd let you guys know about that... .

Bad joke Prez. :(

I still feel bad for bust'n Hans chops about that. Didn't mean too, figured TDR editing had a hand in it. Don't think Hans thinks to much of me anymore.

Thanks for that info Garrick. I knew I hadn't heard from or seen Gap here at work for a while. I was really starting to wonder. Last I talked to him, he was absoloutely covered up in work. I couldn't even get in his office for all the equipment piled outside it. I hate to hear that about his dad.

Just wondering if the meetings were all dodge or do ya'll allow a little diversity. Just wondering since I have friends with the durasmack and powerjokes.
