Warning Rip Off

East TN and South KY meet (TDR Dodgers)

1st Meeting

Guys,

It was good to see such a good turn on yesterday. For all the new guys, it was good to meet you. I won't be able to remember your names after today, but I will remember your trucks. I've got a lot of good ideas from seeing everyone's trucks.

Wade, again, good job getting everybody together.

Gap, sorry you couldn't make it. Please let everybody know when Red is going to run his truck. I want to be there to see it even if I have to drive to Jackson.

Andy, thanks for the Ivy Bluff video. Watched it last night and couldn't stop grinning. If anybody around Murfreesboro wants a copy, let me know and I will burn it and drop it off.

Later,

Jay

Another member

I was reading through some threads last night and noticed another middle tn member. I sent a message to rfrazier (Clarksville) and he's interested in joining our chapter.

Wade - he should be sending you his contact info soon. I just PM'd him and gave him the details. I pointed him to this thread so he could stay updated on what was going on.

yeah, I suck! I hate I couldn't make it. Dickson meet is fine by me. Maybe I'll have my shop built by then. I'll definetly get dad to bring the truck so ya'll can ride in a hot under valved truck.

Wade, Who was the Dickson Feller you mentioned? Haven't seen him on TDR.

That'd be Brent Landau (BLandau). Figgered ya'll could ride together and neither one of you made it. We'll see ya both next time. ;)

Okay there are FIVE saturdays in January. I figger we schedule the meeting on the third one and shift it to the 4th then 5th if necessary for bad weather.

So that's Saturday January 10(updated)for the next meeting, in Dickson, wherever Gap says for final location and time. I'm thinking noon on the time, but we'll listen to input on that.

Hans- I've tried to contact everybody that I think is from MidT and online. It's not easy to do. Maybe I missed Mr. Frazier. There's no way to search online profiles for location. And if you get the mailing list, there's no way to know what their screen names are. Anyway, thanks for the good work.

The more we do, the more folks will get interested and involved. The Chapter should grow quickly for a while.

Hey Jay, cut me a copy. I want one with the ford being pulled out. :D

Hey Fellers...

Do any of you know of anyone at Diesel Performance Parts? Evidently there are on 3rd avenue here in Nashville. I just called them about a AFE filter for my truck... had to leave a msg. Depending on the price, and if they've got it. I'll run down there and buy it.

While I'm there, I'll drop the Mid-Tenn TDR Chapter talk on them. I don't know if they are ford,gm, or Dodge guys yet... will have to wait till I get there. Maybe we can get some sort of sponsership out of them... let them use our rigs as "test" mules or something? Dunno... I'll proceed with caution, those are just thoughts.

Comments, Ideas?

Gap, have you taken a lunch break yet? If they call back, you're welcome to ride along.

Gap and I just got back from DPP. Mark is a real nice guy.

He didn't have the ProGuard7 system in stock for my truck, but should have it by the end of the week.

I talked up the Mid-Tenn TDR. He said he'd like to attend one of our meetings, shop days, dyno days, etc, show us some product, and let us try them out.

He seemed to have about avg pricing. Nice thing is that he's local.

DPP Mark..

We pulled up out front and there set a new 6. 0 Ferd. He noticed Andy's block heater plug hanging out, he didn't have it zipped up! And we was talking about taking forever to get heat in the cool mornings. He said, My new ford heats up quick. I said, Thats because it has to work so hard unlike ours! He chuckled, You can never get Ford and Dodge Guys in the same place without some sarcasim. :D

Hey guys sorry I couldn't make it. I was out of state yet again. Sounds like I missed out on a heckuva meet.

I like the idea of waiting till we got all the holiday junk outta the way. That really helps out a lot.

Wade I'm no longer @ Wilson County Motors just incase you ever decide to swing by there. I wasn't getting the hours I needed for my college program so I had to drop out being a year into it and to far behind. #@$%! Not my fualt and not the dealers he just couldn't give me the hours I needed.

Anyways back to Wally Hell I go in Gallatin. Will be tougher to get off for events without excessive notice now, but at least I have a job right.

Anybody know of any Diesel schools (besides NADC:rolleyes: ) around here, or out of state on this coast? :-laf Toying with the idea of going through a diesel program.

Hey Wade, what's this about a 95 "puller" in your profile? You plan'n on give'n Red, Nick, & me some competition next year? :-laf

Anyhow sounds like the Mid-TN chapter is up and going great news guys, can't wait to get together with all of you again.

Pop's Truck

Dad's truck is getting Nick's old Sun Coast transmission. Then I'm going to play with the pump/injectors and hook it to a sled. Oo.

Probably keep it conservative until I get my very own puller--

Glad that the inagural event of the mid tn tdr got off to a great start. I'll try to make the meeting in dickson. not too far from home, and i'll have my dl back. i think i have learned how to keep my foot off of the diesel pedal. :)! Just a reminder to everyone. I am a dealer for pdr. I usually have very competitive prices on parts. afe, edge and all of the great products that pdr has for sell. i'll do the best that i can for ya'll and can have things drop shipped to your houses. i am glad that the truck pulling bug has bitten hard up your way. it's always a great time around here and i enjoy traveling to these events. not too big on dyno days. i just love hooking to the sled. :D! I probably won't be able to make all of your events but i'll try to support you whenever i can. Next pull at michigan city, ms will be at the end of april or begining of may. i'll let you know the dates as soon as i get them. we are going to try and have a two day pull. friday and sat nites. probably have the gas burning prostock trucks there too. a little more for the fans. We are also trying to work it out so that all the EEP guys can come down and have a little fun with us too. they will have there own class. as always. they are all about having fun and showing what there awesome trucks can do. i am thinking about talking to kent from schied's and seeing if he would like to come down too. should be a great time. hope to see all of you there. later, nick

Red's Truck Update

Dad called last night about 10:00 said listen! She was running with the tweaked pump on. We had been concerned about getting our shifts in High range, as we had been unable to before. Got her up to operating temp and floored it, trucked shifted 3 times and hit 80 mph and never left the parking lot. Pulled hard to 3800 rpms till the governor starts coming on, will pull to 41-4200. Daddy took her down the road and said it'll bust the tires loose anytime below 40 mph. If you romp it hard it'll scoot the tires below 70 mph. The little HX35/14 was screaming its butt off! I figured EGTs would be off the chart, but he said it never got above 1000. All unloaded on flat ground. Smoke's good till the R's get up and she clears up. Need more turbo cause it'll flood some if you floor with the boost down. Can't get in it till the boost is up. Still got the stock barrels in and . 191 DV's. More fuel is left to be added when we get our air issues solved. Turbo boys said they'd could build us a pulling turbo, they claim best turbo they have ever built, ball bearings, balanced and whatever else they was talking about. Normal cost about $2K, but for us(Good Ol Boy network) $400-$1000, depending on what all it needed. I'll let ya'll know. Turbo is next, addressing the traction issues, then we'll get back to the fuel again.

Everybody is all :D! Daddy said we ain't got Nick yet, but we are getting close.

Mid-Tenn TDR Mailing List

One of the things that Wade brought up on Sunday was an e-mail mailing list. I've got that set up and ready to use.

The way it works is this. First, send a BLANK e-mail to this address: -- email address removed --

That'll get you signed up to the list (don't worry. . no SPAM or any of that crap will follow. ). Note: When the system receives your subscription e-mail, it will in turn automatically send you one back. The auto one that you receive back has info about unsubscribing and what not.

From that point, you have two options to send mail to the list.

1. Simply just reply to the automated e-mail that you received after sending the subscription.

2. Send an e-mail to -- email address removed -- with your message.

Either optionyou chose, the system will automatically distribute your e-mail to all subscribers immediately.

Although all MidTenn TDR members are encouraged to join the TDR (I can't imagine not wanting to), they can still communicate with us and get updates/news/etc, if they choose not to subscribe. The TDR brought us together, but we don't want to alienate CTD fans that don't want to subscribe for whatever reason.

The list is free and open for anyone to join. Feel free to send news, comments, flames, jokes, whatever... It's unmoderated, so we can talk about whatever we want.

BTW, the subject of ALL messages you receive from the mailing list will be prefaced with [Mid-Tenn TDR]... that should just make it a little easier to spot them if you get a lot of e-mail like me!

l8tr,

Andy
