How fast was he driving? What is his gear ratio e. i. 3. 73 or 4. 10? Did he use the cruise control if equipped? Stock tires or not? Tire pressure? Winter blend fuel? Sun Spots? Too many variables to make an educated guess. Try and get some more info Dan.

That's about the same milage I get 14. 5 and 10. 5 towing a 28 ft travel trailer.

Tire pressures are on the door. Full load 65 front and rear, light load (you'll have to look, CRS disease)

The speed varied from 60 to 70 mph. Cruise control was on. Truck does have stock tires. Air pressure in front was 60 psi, rear 50 psi (no load). Winter blend fual, yes. I don't know what you mean about sun spots. Thanks GAB

The 325/600-610 engines do not get the mileage that the 305/555 did. My '03 got about 15 mpg for the first 40,000 miles then went up. Empty on highway running power service with my fuel I can get 20-21 regularly. Tires 65 psi, all 6 of em. Bone stock except for a hollowed out intake tube, chunked silencer ring straight pipe exhaust and a re-usable air cleaner.

I do not agree that the 325/610 gets poor mileage. I have 5000 miles on my 05 and just went from the Reno area to Sacramento over the mountains at 65 to 75 mph. Hand caculated to 19. 3 with no load. Since new this truck has been in the 17 to 20 mpg range.

I agree with you, mine is an 05 600, but is doing the same as yours for mileage. I have to admit I was very nervous about the fuel mileage before I bought it.

I have a little over 3000 miles on mine. I love it more every day. Oo.

I wonder if there could be a problem, Like back in 1999 they discovered that some trucks had not been programed right from the factory and they finally issued a TSB to correct the problem.

Mine has 2400 miles and fuel milage is 14 to 15 hand caculated. NOT HAPPY!!!

for a 3500 dually with low mileage, 15MPG isn't bad. My 3500 srw got 16 and at 10500 miles gets 16-17. It will probably improve with a few more miles. These engines can take up to 30000 miles to fully break-in if your not towing and up to 10000-12000 towing heavy.

My boss' '04. 5 with the 325/600 only gets about 14 on the highway empty. Loaded about 9!!! it should have gone up with over 100,000 on the ticker.
