Will my mileage computer still be accurate now that I have added a comp? The pump wire is not hooked up and won't be for a while. I have read that injectors throw it off but can't find anything about the box.
The box will throw it off as well - probably pretty much proportional to the specific settings used - the higher the setting, the greater error... Altho', mine was only off by about 1. 5 mpg on a 1300 trip cruising 80+ mph, mostly running 3x3 on the Comp...
YMMV, but I agree with Gary - the higher I set the comp, the more exaggerated the error. Increasing the power settings shows an increase in mpg.
Between that and my oversized tires, I find the trip and economy computer to be generally useless. I leave it on thermometer and compass all the time now.
