How about a contest to display a picture of mileage on the message center. Sometimes we do complain about the mileage on the newer trucks, but sometimes it's not to bad. To establish the claim how about a picture of the computed mileage on the message center for a minimum of 50 miles? Good luck!!

It would be a useless enterprise.

Anyone could reset their calculator while coasting downhill or from high speed just to create a high reading.

Wish I had a camera in July when the EVIC went nuts, told me my DPF was plugged then proceeded to tell me I was getting over 50 mpg - obviously a lie.

Lie O Meter?

Mine has been fairly accurate:

Empty:
Hand Calculated: 17. 5 MPG average
EVIC "Lie O Meter": 17. 6 MPG

Towing: (TT in my sig--about 5500#)
Hand Calculated: 12. 5
EVIC "Lie O Meter": 12. 4

On long highway runs I'm getting 18-19 according to EVIC. In town it drops to 16. 5. These results are from light driving around Monterey CA and 70-75 mph highway runs on HWY 1/101 between here and San Jose Airport. I don't drive it like I stole it but I don't drive like an old woman either (you'll get run over by California drivers if you do!).

I only reset mine at each fill up.

Truck has 8K miles on it--these numbers have been pretty constant since I got it except they are a little better now that it seems to finally start breaking in.

Maybe it was the G30 recall that made mine work better. A . 1 error might be significant in a laboratory, but out here in the real world it's good enough for me.

At the end of the day all that really matters is whether you are happy with the mileage that you get, whether it he HC or OH.

My OH generally reads between 28 & 29 MPG, but I know from my HC that I am getting between 21-22. 5 depending on weather and road conditions (traffic, etc. )

Considering my truck weighs 3 1/2 tons, has over 600lbs of torque, can pull 15K#, and still gets over 18 mpg I'm quite happy.

If I was dead set on outstanding fuel economy I would have bought an economy car, not a 1 ton truck.

Anyone headed down I-70 could hit their reset button at the Eisenhower tunnel then 20-30 miles later take a picture of the lie-o-meter :-laf

my 06 2500 2wd amsoil engine an transmission , gets at 75 mph 22. 8 up to 24. 9 on hwy , reset computer when up to speed trip 300 miles round trip florida , higher temps help went to key west last yr a couple times mixed traffic and turnpike - 489 miles roundtrip , put in 17 gallons , average the same every trip , unless i get caught in traffic idling !
