Oil Pressure?

What's the status on the analouge rail pressure gauge in the latest TDR?

I started to have real problems with my truck throwing codes and not running. I decided it had to be the Edge Juice, so I unhooked it comepletely. Truck imediately began to run like brand new.

However, since removing the Edge box my overhead began to read 19. 3-19. 5. Prior to the Juice it was steady 16. 8, no change. With the box it was in the 18. 5 range, but never 19 or better. I rarely hand calc, but the few times I did stock it worked about to about 16. 5, so pretty close to the overhead. With the Edge it was about 17. 8, so a little under the overhead, but that seemed appropriate as the Edge was putting more fuel in.

I hand calced it the other day and came up with 19. 7 for a partial tank, followed by 19. 1 for a larger tank. The overhead had dropped to 19. 3 for the average of those two tanks plus a few.

So how in the world could my truck suddenly get such better mileage w/o the Edge box??!??!

How long was the Edge installed? It might be that your truck is broke in now, and w/o the Edge, you are not putting your foot into it as much, thus more MPG.

Edge was on there for about 20K+. I am actually using more foot since I don't have the power. Feels like I am dropping it to the floor on every entrance ramp.

I think it's possible that the edge is actually dropping mileage. I've got mine in right now and i'm getting worse mileage than without it. I've been keeping track of my fuel mileage since Feb. If i can figure out how to post the numbers I will.

I ran a pressure box for a while and noticed the same thing when I removed it. I put it on at only 5000 miles, and it did increase mileage. Took it off at about 20K and the mileage seemed better. I just figured that everything finally got broke in and seated. With over 3$ diesel, you must do everything to get the most mileage!!

yeah no kidding. I'm paying 3. 54 here in Mt. Home. It's killing me at over $100 a fill up. And there's no end in sight. So I'm buying an old beater 4 cylinder.

Here is what I cannot understand, why would the truck get better mileage with the Edge box completely unplugged, than with the box plugged in but set to 0-stock? That suggests that something in having the box just plugged in is causing the truck to add fuel when not necessary.

One more thing, Edge claims it does not increase pressure, it is only timing and duration.

Thats right, edge is only timing and duration. Here's my theory. The ECM is constantly making adjustments based on all these different parameters. When you throw the box on there you're showing the ECM something other than what's actually happening so it's making adjustments based on faulty information. At first, when you put the box on, you'll see mileage gains because there's no real faulty history but when you have the box on for a while it's making adjustments based on this history of faulty information. Now I could be talking out of my butt but thats how I think it works without actually knowing for sure.
