Has anyone had any experience with this unit. I had heard that this option

could posssibly give you 3-4 mpg extra.

I would recommend against buying a K&N filter for your truck unless you don't plan to keep it forever. A search on K&N around here will reveal some interesting results. And read this test.

And I can promise you there is no air intake system in the world that will give your truck a 3-4 mpg gain. Ask whoever told you that to see a fuel log.

Stay away from K&N. If you hold it up to a light, you can actually see pinholes of light. If light can get through, so can dirt.

They may be great for a night at the drag strip where you need high flow, but they're not what I would want for everyday reliability.

Go for the AFE PG7 setup. It sounds great and works as advertised. Just make sure to get the pre-filter, too.
