Reincarnation?

Which ones actually work? How much and where can I get one. Wife's Saturn V6 is only getting 28-30 mpg and she misses her Saturn 4 banger which got 40 or better. I keep hinting at trading for a TDI, but the numbers don't really stack up once I add more car payment and more insurance. Not to mention there isn't anyone within 60 miles that can work on a TDI.

Tim, try the Fitch Fuel Catalyst. My V6 Maxima routinely gets 32-34 on the hwy now! This, with over 100K on the clock.

AFAIK, it's the ONLY product out there that's not a gimmick. It's also not cheap-- figure $150 or so. Based on my fuel economy increase (from 26-27), I has paid for itself already over the last 30K miles.

I recommend you only install one in a vehicle that you plan on keeping a long time. They last at least 200,000 miles, and have no moving parts.

Installing it in the Maxima took about 10 seconds-- literally. You just drop in these little turds that roll around in the tank and treat the fuel.

I was so impressed, I put one on the CTD. This was a $400 experiment that doesn't look quite as promising. It doesn't seem to be nearly as effective on the diesel as it is on gas. When I upgrade to the max flow line, I will re-do my FFC install, and maybe it will be more effective then. I HAVE noticed lower smoke, and about 1 mpg more overall. But that alone is not worth the $400 for the CTD version:--)

I recommend it VERY much for gassers. I think the jury's still out on the CTD, as I installed it with the DD2s at the same time, so I can't recommend it as strongly, since I don't have an accurate comparison.

The link to more info is here.

This product also seems to keep the engine a LOT cleaner on the inside. I rarely use an injector cleaner now.

I also wanted to mention that I have PROOF of the FFC being effective on gassers. You should see the emissions reports before and after I installed the thing. Emissions after install are less than HALF of what they were before I installed it. It's simply burning the fuel more efficienty.

As a side bonus, the car seems to have quite a bit more pep and throttle response.

Justin

Thanks Justin, I thought I had read a post a while back where you were talking about this and couldn't remembere where. Another crazy week, I'll get with ya soon.

Hey, I passed a Green CTD today on Lincolnway that had a TST sticker on the side... . Know who this lone wolf might be?

Sanford's was yummy...

One simple solution is this... .

Jack up the radiator cap high.

Push gas guzzling pig out from underneath it.

Call tow truck to have it hauled to nearest scrap yard.

Push new TDI underneath radiator cap.

Lower cap and twist into place.

Gas guzzling problems are now corected.

Seriously now,

She is complaining about the difference between 30 and 40 miles to gallon, sheesh. Tell her to ease the loud pedal up some as that v6 does not need as much force to move it as that always in the Saturd 4popper did:rolleyes:   ... ... Andy

Not sure who the green one belongs to. Watch out for a blue and silver one with a big alum front bumper aka R. ebel. That thing will make your truck feel like a little girly mawn. Mine's red over silver, scratched dented and missing a mudflap. Oh and it's covered in mud. (after affects of hunting season).

I have to admit the first two Saturds were good cheap reliable transportation. Once they proved themselves, GM dug their claws in and have cheapened things up more and jacked up the price. This third one feels awfully GM'ish. I don't hate GM, but they just couldn't leave a good thing alone. I think another 3-5 mpg would shut'er up, if that doesn't do it, I'm headed for the VW dealership.

Justin, you did the drop-ins, not the inline??

Tim, I did the Drop-ins for my gasser Maxima. The CTD requires the inline version of the FFC, which is MUCH more $$.
