Added comp, tapped the wire, been runnin 1x1 and the mileage has went down, i turn up to 5x5 and i can watch the needle. Is this normal or do i need to try something else to regain mileage. I figured the box would help, any ideas. Was i wrong in thinkin the box would help mileage. Just wondering, fuel is like 3. 25 here at every station.   :--) :{ I love playin on 5x5 but the mileage and fuel consumption take all the fun out of it.

You may have to wait until the novelty of new power wears off. Or maybe your area has started using winter blend fuel, which I've heard can produce lower MPG. Either way, you ought to run 5 or 6 tank fulls to average out the change.

Kiss your Mileage away J/K Relax it takes time to get things stright Heck, look how long it took to hook the box up WITHOUT scothloks :) (What would you have done without a wirenut or two) Give it time and play with the settings. Nothing comes overnight.

Thanks Tom, you have a very good point, i could be in the same shape with my truck completely out of action. It is true, wiring without components is like watchin a monkey F&%@ a football, quite humerous but completely pointless, lol. I will have to give it a few weeks to toy with the settings, maybe it will respond better with a higher setting like 3x3 i have heard guys sayin that is where they get their best mileage, i will also have to make sure i watch my shift points and keep them under 2 grand, it got me better mpg before, maybe it will help now as well.

I would say it's change of fuel or a heavy foot. I had heavy foot syndrome also until the novelty wore off. Personally I found 1X1 nets the best mileage for me especially in town because you still have the timing but it doesnt dump the fuel in. Cruising on the highway I dont get much of a difference up to 3X3 and only a little less on 5X5.
