Mileage with 4.10's

Looking at an 03 Quad 4x4 1 ton SRW HO 6 speed 4. 10's. What kind of mileage can i expect with just daily driving?

I am getting 16-17 around town, 20-21 on the highway, but I have the BFG 315/70-R17 tires which changes my rear ratio to about the 3. 73s. I also do not have a lead foot, and I travel on level roadways. I have heard of guys getting less, it depends on how you drive, and the mods you have.

I just did a trip yesterday from Tampa to Ocala national Forest & back,running 65/75mph, unloaded,260 miles got 18. 3mpg,figured by slow fill up & hand calculator,been averaging 17. 4 around town,hwy mixed. I have a 2003 3500 qc,lb. srw,2wd,410,6spd. Now if I could only learn to CONSISTENTLY shift "MO'into the right gear!I just turned 1100 miles,I'm pleased. Pat

Stick - I've got the same truck you're looking at. I'm consistent at 18 with combination town & hiway unloaded. And I do take the time to top off the tank at each fill - there has to be a reason some of these new ones are so difficult to fill. I will say that you better like shifting as it winds up pretty fast. No speed until 4th then hold on. You will love the truck.

I also have the same truck you are looking at. I'm getting 18. 1 with 3500 miles on it. I've towed with it a few times and it drops to around 15+ towing about 9000#.

I just filled up for the 3rd time, hand calc 17. 55, still stock truck and tires, 50/50 town/highway and about 120 miles pulling 3k, midweight foot on go pedal. I think I'm set up like you're looking for. I'm way beyond real happy with the truck!

I'm glad to hear this. That is about what the 97 did with 3. 54's ( hated to see her go ). I want the 4. 10's for the trailer towing capacity.

22 mpg on my last all highway trip a couple of months ago. Very happy with my setup.

I drive 90 miles to work 78 miles of the trip is freeway. My last 3 tanks figure to 15. 19, 14. 85 and 14. 55 driving at 70mph and shifting at 2k or under. These numbers are very close to what the overhead is showing. I have a longer trip planned in a couple weeks will see what it does then.
