Mileage

Just a question about mileage. Ive got a 99, 3. 54 gears, muffler elimination, larger tires (32's) and 40k miles. My mileage is usually. around 15 MPG sometimes less (14 or so). This is empty and around town. I very seldom get a full tank all highway. Is this normal mileage?

I have only ever driven about 75% of a tank in town, and mine was around 16 MPG, if it had been the whole tank I would have been lower for sure. For around town type of stuff the 15 or so range really is pretty good for a big heavy 4x4. My truck is very similar to yours, hope this helps.

I found a pile of fuel reciepts. . and computed milage.



When its mostly highway or half highway its 17mpg ( I do about 75mph or so).



When its to work and back and in town it ranges from 14 to 15. 5mpg



I drive pretty aggressive.



First tank after the DD camshaft was 16. 25mpg. Still too early to tell if I will gain milage with it.

I get 18-20 highway and 15-16 around town,and I run pretty hard. I went to kauffmans dyno and even with 4 runs and some pretty hard driving up there and back,I still got 18. I've got a 99 also(see sig. )60,000 miles... Doug
