Can anyone tell me how the 12,000lb MM(electric) compares to the Warn of the same size. I can save about $400 on the MileMarker. Should I just go with the Warn?

TC,

There's a post on this winch on some other forum. Sorry, I can't remember which one.

Search for the MileMarker electric winch and I'm sure you'll find it.

I have been very happy with my MileMarker. I live about 45 minutes from the Warn HQ, but still bought the MileMarker. If I remember right, MileMarker is based out of Washington so it might be conveinent for you if anything were to go wrong with it.

MM is slower than a painfull death.

Went with MileMarker Hydrolic

Well, after looking at the pros and cons of each, I went with the MM Hydrolic 10. 5K and saved about $250. I figured If I went with the Electric I would have to have Engine running to charge batteries so I might as well go with the Hydrolic.

Thanks for all the input.

Thats the problem with the hydraulic, your engine needs to be running ALL the time if you want to use it.

the MM hydraulic is as close as you'll come to a continuous duty winch... they just keep pulling and pulling... as long as you keep the p/s fluid cool enough. The electrics on the other hand have a relatively low duty cycle. As long as your truck is running you should be very pleased w/ the MM results... you'll find is hard to over work (overloading sure, over working NO).

I have had my MM hydro for over 7 years and couldn't be any happier with it. It has performed flawlessly and pulled some amazing loads, that a comparatively rated electric would not pull. As long as you're in no big hurry, it will get you out every single time(the truck is running).

I have only ever stalled it out one time, and that was with my rear bumper chained to a tree and trying to pull a large stump out with the winch.

I have always heard good things about the hydros. . I have always had a Warn. I remember being in a water crossing years ago and the engine got wet. With the Warn I was able to pull out far enough to dry the engine, and still had (just) enough to start the engine. Its a personal preference.

I am going to purchase the MILE MARKER 12,000 lb electric winch, I have used meany WARN products, but I am going to give the MM a shoot. Hell for 599. 00, and free shipping I can't go wrong!

MM winch

Mile marker Has just won another Army contract,A huge one after

test's by the army GWD, I don't own a winch of any kind!:)

The MM hydro is the best design out there. U'll go threw ten warn electric winches before u go threw one MM hydro. The hydro is just a better, longer lasting design. I'm surprised Warn hasn't came out with one yet?

Hey guys the Mile Marker winch is in and looks very nice. I have had time to look it over and I am very happy with it value. Looks well mahe, comes with a roller fairlead, nice looking 100' of 3/8 cable, nice hand contoller, all in a compact well built design. For 599. 00 and free shipping it is a bargin.

Thats a good deal and you should be happy with it. My uncle had one for years on his Bronco and never had any problems at all!

Well, i'm not surprised anymore, Warn has just come out with a hydrolic winch. U have to have an eclectric/hydrolic pump, or a PTO, or a belt drive pump, but they do have a hydrolic winch, . . still like the mile marker better, . . looked at both or them and MM has there stuff together, and the MM is two speed and the warn is single speed

Hydraulic over Electric?

I ummed and ahhed for some time but finally went the Milemarker hydraulic route. This weblink will answer your questions and the ones you haven't even considered yet.....
