Do any of the knowledgeable people on this site know how much pre-production work hours have been put on the new motor? I am sure many computer hours have been run but what about actual road time.

we have an oem that has been using the 6. 7 for a little while now. no aparent problems, not yet anyway, not sure how many hours, but we have sold them probably 100 engines this year.

I'm sure there were a bunch out in test fleets, just like they did before. RV manufacturers and the like I'm sure got ahold of some to "try out".

I know a guy that was involved with the developement and I can't remember the exact date of the road test starting but I do remember thinking that it seemed like a pretty short amount of time between testing and release. I think it was less than 6 months. I'd say that they did lots of "inside" test before that though.

I saw the new 6. 7 beside the 5. 9, both engine cut-a-ways

and they are identical except for the EGR system on top of

the exhaust system (ports) on the 6. 7. Also had a different

fuel filter system on the 6. 7. The water pump, valve train,

cams, it all looked the same, otherwise I couldn't tell there

was any difference between the two engines that were on

exhibit at the Farm Expo at Moultrie Georgia. Injectors may

have been different, best I can remember. The EGR technology

should not be a problem, I wouldn't be concerned with a minimum

of prior testing. I had no way of measuring the bore or stroke for

comparison.
