After looking for quite some time to find a truck to haul firewood out of our property, I've come across a couple of military m35 trucks in my price range.

Is anyone here familiar with the Continental Multifuel engine? I'm very new to these trucks in general and any info would be greatly appreciated before I decide to buy.

first off what are they asking for the truck ? second how many hours/ miles are on it ? and 3rd what shape is truck in ? the multifuel engine was a pretty great motor the reason they call them multifuel is they were set to even run on creamy peanutbutter :) amoung other things unless it's fallin apart you should beable to pick the truck up fairly cheap . they have the 5 sp trans in them and if taken care of will last for a very long time . I would say look it over really well and go from there .

go to Steel Soldiers :: Military Vehicles Supersite, it is an excellant source of info on military vehicles. If you're looking for something to drive around the farm they're a good choice. be aware that the bed is very high and can be a problem when unloading and loading. I used to have one for the same reason, and they are relatively low maintenance. you should be able to get one in good condition for $3500. 00

I'm actually looking at 2 right now... a '68 and a '70. Both are in the mid 30's for miles with one having 1400 hours and the other around 1880 I believe.

Pictures please.

I don't have any at the moment, but may have some for you this weekend.

Thanks for the link. :)

set it up to run on just diesel... more power

setting it up to run on diesel only involves bypassing the fuel density compensator (FDC) which is a simple procedure but you defnitely need to install a EGT guage since the engine will be getting more fuel. If you're just needing something to haul firewood buy a 3/4 ton trailer (the ones that are pulled behind the duece) and pull it with your pickup or farm tractor). I bought one for $300. 00 and that included sides, bows, and a cover, and they will haul 3 cords of wood with the sides on. That being said I think everyone should own a duece at some time in their life, they are alot of fun. Oo. Oo. Oo.
