I thought of this all on my own... ... ... ... ... ... Milk is made inside a cow,,,,,,,,, then pumped into a steel bulk tank,,,right????,,,which is inside a building no less,,,,,,,,,,,,then shipped by a tanker truck,,,right???,,,then pumped into a facility where it's pasteurized/homogenized, right???,,,,,,,,,then stored inside said facility, inside a giant cooler, right???,,,,,then loaded onto a refrigerated truck bound for your local supermarket, only to find it's way BACK into a cooler, right???, then carefully placed into a display case, INSIDE your favorite supermarket, right???? then you transport said milk be it a half gallon or more to your RAM where it then finds it's way inside your home, inside your frig, awaiting use, right??? ... ... ... ... ... ... ..... Then I have only one question, Why then is it so darn important to package milk in a sun-proof/light blocking/ultraviolet stopping/gamma- ray proof/phaser- ray impenetrable milk jug?????

Um, well, I've actually wondered the same thing, and since a certain company started doing that, I've stopped buying their milk. Why do I need to pay an extra fee for a bottle that inhibits my checking how much milk I have left without actually picking up the bottle?

I think it all has to do with marketing. Something like - "Hey look, we have a NEW bottle to give you the same old milk in, but its a COOL bottle, so buy our milk!!"

You've made a good point, though.

I think it has something to do with soviet alien invaders from the outer rim.

But really, if you study marketing tools you will be supprized to find that almost all product distributers change containers and boast "new and improved" when actually it is the same product. This is done to conduct a survey in sales.

Or sometimes they will start using a new product in the old containers and ask for a responce from the consumer to see if the (unknown to them) is satisfactory. If the responces are favorable, the company will introduce the same product in a new container claiming it is "new and improved".

Confussing? yes, does it work? yes.

Now you know why you get all those iritating phone calls late at night wanting to know what you wipe your bum with and what tv shows do you watch.

Maybe if I sent them a used sample of what I wiped my bum with they can do a survey on that?
