A Big Thanks for The Texas Rally

Florida Meeting Next Saturday!

Well the Big Rig Nationals have come and gone. The weather cooperated with us and it was a beutiful day. The turnout for MDTDR members was a littile disappointing, but those that came appeared to have a good time. Chef Wiredawg was replaced by our new chef (picture attached) who not only cooked but supplied the "vittals". Our members made a respectful showing on the track. FFUTCH cut his reaction time and ET when he started launching in 4WD, RamminOn was running in the 14's and Kobi got his in the 12's. Don't remember exact Et's so if members want to post they can add to this post. Hope to see everyone at our next get-together, whatever it is.

John Styer :D

Picture did not attach and the TDR wouldn't allow me to delete to start over so i'll try again later.

It was nice to see everybody again. I wish I could have had more time to talk with everyone, but I was a little pre-occupied. The truck was not running well at all, and it was killing me. 12. 87@ 107 was my best time. Not a bad time, just not what I had hoped for. The turn out was small for the event as a whole, not just us. I guess the rescheduling, combined with the sniper really took it's toll. Well there is always the Spring event, and hopefully we can make up for it then.

Daily Driver

That's better Ted... :D :D :D

With all of that power, you still drive that sucker almost a 100 miles to work and back every day???

Absolutely Amazing... :-laf

Doug,

It was amazing. I opened up the tool box, and there it was. :-laf I wish you had been there, I did have some problems that you may have been able to help me figure out, but I guess it is R&D time.....

100 miles a day, 5 days a week to work and back, then it's probably close to that each day on the weekends, since we live in the middle of nowhere. The only thing close to me is the Drag Strip. I swear I didn't plan it that way ;)

4wd is the key...

... when you make over 400 h. p. I had traction problems for the first few runs and finally tried 4wd,and had the best e. t. /r. t of the day(except that last r. t. . 476  ). 15. 318@87. 94. I may try some smaller tires next time and see if that helps. Good to see you guys again, look forward to the next get together... Doug

Sorry I missed out...

Hey guys, Sorry I missed out. Viv's plane left at 1430 and that would have put me getting there at 1600. She was happy I didn't just dump her off and high-tail it to the races. Made me some brownie points, though:D

Hey Shovelhead: Nice pix! Glad you could keep the proud tradition of MD-TDR cooks going. We make a great cooking team!

Looks like there were some nice runs out there. Even with a small showing, MD-TDR still had a presence there.

Were there any Fords or Chevys out there? Did they make us look even better?

How about the rest: Was Cummins Power Systems out there? Were there as many big rigs as before?

Sounds like y'all had a good time. This is one 1 missed out of 3 MIR get togethers, so not too terrible. Viv and I will be at the next one.

new experience

hey guys,

this was my first diesel drag race that i attended and it was quite an experience. Didn't realize how fast some of these trucks really were. When i walked up to Ted's truck and saw that braided line sticking out of the toolbox i just knew what i was gonna see inside!!!! Congrats Ted on the 12. 87 pass. Well i enjoyed myself, but didn't really get a chance to meet alot of the guys. I only know a few faces so next event i'll have to get some formal introductions!!
