Mirror Broke in Half

Driving down dirt road - outside temperature about 32 degrees - driver side mirror cracks in half from top to bottom.

This is a heated, power adjust mirror, but the heat was not in use.

I hope this "safety item" is covered by warranty.

I've had a mirror glass fall off on a 15 year old truck - just never had one crack in half!

Jumbo Jet, I noticed the same thing this weekend. But both of mine were cracked. The passenger side has just started. Mine are heated and it has been cold but I think mine is due to the fact that I have a dome mirror on the outboard edge of the mirror and it rode up against my towing extension mirror that encompasses the mirror housing. Do you have any extra bubble mirors on yours? This could have prompted the cracking. Now is a good oportunity for me to add the signal mirors #ad

No extra stick-on mirrors. I've only used the heat twice. Latest use was about a month ago.

My passenger side mirror broke like you describe, cracked right down the middle. I think it was my fault... . adjusted the mirror too far in while using the slide on CIPA towing mirrors and the edge of the power mirror hit the tow mirror housing. Dealer replaced under warranty, no questions asked.

Service technician said that the heating element is getting too hot and that they will replace the mirror.

First heated mirrors I've ever owned.

Jumbo Jet & JeffroSr, which contract due you have? I have the 100,000 diesel wrap and they said that they only cover the mirror motors. Just curious.

Mine was replaced under the 3/36,000 when I had the truck in at 35,400 getting a few things taken care of before it ran out.
