Mirror Heater/Defroster Issue

Has anyone ever had one of their mirror defrosters quit on them? I switched on my mirror defroster/heater this morning and the passenger side mirror wouldn't defrost. I wasn't sure if they were fused individually or not.



I would go out and start checking fuses however it is a little chilly and nasty out there this evening. I just thought if someone knew of something specific to check, it would keep me from freezing my butt off.

I rather doubt seperate fusing. I'd look for a loose connection onthe passenger side. If under warranty, take it in and have it checked.

Yeah, I assumed that they weren't, I was just kind of hopeful that it would be that simple. Warranty has been done for a long time so that is out of the question. The weather is going to be nasty here tomorrow also so I'll have to wait until later this weekend to check it.



I checked the service manual and it said that if only one side didn't work, perform continuity checks on the circuits and the heater grid for that mirror. I'll try that first and see what happens.



I'll be sure to post up what I find for those that might run into this problem in the future.

I noticed the same thing about a week ago. I have not checked into the problem because I have been busy doing house work I fell behind on over the last seven months. Maybe this weekend I will get a chance to look at it. Keep me posted, I will do the same.
