Looking into removing my driverside mirror tonight. How do I take off the mirror from the" sail" I just want to take off the mirror not the entire unit off the door. My shop manual dose not have the towing mirrors in it.

With the towing mirrors you have, and I am guessing they are manual adjusting type, the glass "carrier" doesn't come off separately. You could use a hair dryer/heat gun and carefully pry the glass off of the sticky stuff holding it on, if you are trying to replace just the glass.

well

I accidentally knocked the mirror out of the holder on my 99. It snapped right back in:cool: I was driving in the city and got pinched on a narrow side street going wat too fast and BANG off it came. The heater wires held it on till I got to a safe place to stop. Any way it was held in by friction, Plastic clips molded into the body of the mirror. I would try and pull off a junkyard mirror first to get my technique down, cause if you break a clip your done.

I do not want to replace the glass, the spring or whatever it is broke behind the glass that keeps preasure on the glass from moving freely. Everything with the mirror is fine, it just won't stay where i aim it. this the second mirrow that broke. I really don't want to spend $255 again. To make thigs worse, a local shop(not my regular mech) fail my inspection because of this mirror. But the guys at Mopar4less are great, had the new mirror to me in 2 days.
