Has anyone found a fix for vibration of the rearview mirrors? This mainly shows up when the wind is 'up' and at highway speeds. This is not limited to just the diesel models. Fellow workers have 1500 models and they have same problem. Truck has been back to dealer and had the latest and greatest 'stiffer' mirror installed as directed/recommended by DC service bulletin. With this new and improved mirror it still vibrates at highway speeds. Passenger mirror also but with that being concave it is not at noticeable. Is this a case of just live with it? Has anyone found a fix to this? Dealer and DC seem to have tried all they can think of at present time.

what year is your ram , and do you have an aftermarket bug deflector on your hood ? a tsb i saw says the bug deflector is causing it . if you have one , remove it and see what happens ...

I have had 2 Rams with every mirror you could imagine and never had any vibes. I never had a bug deflector so that makes sense

When I installed my Mopar bug deflector it said right on the instructions that it would cause the mirrors and antenna to vibrate,it did,no big deal though.

RMHanes what on earth are you doing posting at 4:41 in the morning? You weren't up polishing your truck for the get together later that day were you?

As to your vibrating mirror. My 97 12 valver's drivers mirror shook a little after installing a bug guard. But it was either put up with a little shaking mirror, or put up with rock chips on a dark green hood (which showed up real easily). So, the mirror stability was sacrificed to save the hood paint.

My mirrors vibrate a little also. I put a spot mirror in the top outside corner of each. I use that mirror more. I don't notice the vibration in the spot mirrors. This also keeps thingsbehind me from looking so shaky going down the road.

My current truck is a '98. 5. Had the same problem on the '94 also. What is so amazing is that it also affects some 1500 trucks. Tried the spot mirror and it helped a little but not much. On the '94 had a bug deflector when first noticed it. Took off and it went down in intensity but once the wind got a going on the highway it shook like the dickens! On the '98. 5 do not have a bug deflector on it. Was thinking that this may help but it appears that this is not too wide spread of a problem. Was up at 4:41 because just woke up. The body had enough and so decided to do some of this internet browsing thing. Had a great time at the get together later that day. Not as many people showed up though. As usual, the barbecue was excellent, Pierce's brand. Have had lots of discussions on the merits of North Carolina style barbecue and the Virginia style. Almost as heated a discussion as between CTD and Ford's and Chevy's!.
