My 93 has the original electric mirrors. (you can see them in my gallery picture)

But they don't stick out far enuff to see good when towing my big box trailer.

What are my options to improve this, hopefully without spending a ton of money? I don't tow all the time, so I don't want anything too huge. Is there anything telescopic? Thanks, Joel

Would some of the slip-on type of mirrors that fit to your existing ones work? Boss' grandpa has some on his '02 1500 Dodge to use with his 24' fifth wheel camper and small fishing boat (he pulls both together). He said they worked pretty well. I have no experiance with them though.

PS, your truck sure looks sharp! :D

I have not done this but have seen the information on this site,

some people have taken the original mirrors and turned the bent tube end for end, it lowers the mirror a little and moves them out further. If that doesn't make them wide enough you could get some longer pieces of stainless tubing bent, you would have to extend the wires some also.

I plan on doing this when I get an electric mirror for my passenger side, the prior owner replaced it with a standard mirror.

Hope this helps,

Caleb

I drove a Chevy with longer tubes to moves the mirrors out before as suggested above. PITA. They wouldn't stay in place for anything. Didn't matter how easy you were on shutting the doors or doing down a washboard gravel road. Nice idea though.

Mirrors

My W-350 has the angle brackets flipped on the mirrors. Works just fine. They stay in place and the electric adjust still works. I have added 4" convex mirrors to eliminate any blind spots. I pull a 33' flatbed and can see everything I need to. I would just flip the bracket.

I have a set of slip on tow mirrors that I had on my 93. It had the factory power, so I wanted to keep them. These work pretty good. If interested PM me, they are sitting on the shelf looking for a new home.

Joel,

Awesome Rig!!! It looks exactly like mine, only 10 times better!!

I got a set of temporary tow mirrors from Tractor Supply Company, but am sure I've seen them in Wal-Mart. About $25 each, but have paid for themselves after the first run with my dad's dump trailer.

Unlike the older kind that slide over the stock mirror, these have 3 rubber feet that rest against the front of the mirror cover. 2 straps clip to the top and bottom edge of the cover and a screw/ratchet tightens the strap. The feet are adjustable to get the angle you want.

I couldn'tfind them on the TSC site, but here's what they look like

Caleb,

How do you get inside the mirror to switch the tube, without breaking the glass? I once thought I could slide it further out, but couldn't figure out how to get inside.

Phil,

Like I said I haven't yet done this, maybe Jeremy can let us know how he did it, looked in my manual and it doesn't show it, looks like maybe you have to pop the mirror out of the inside. A member is supposed to be getting back to me with the shipping charges for an electric passenger side mirror, when it arrives i'll do some dissecting.

Happy Rammin'

Thanks for all the replys, guys!

Paychk, the rear running boards say DELTA III on them, the fronts say Autobahn. They must be made by Delta, they match the rears perfectly.

Case500D, maybe you can tell us how to get that mirror apart to flip it? Thanks.
