Hello all!!

I know there has been a lot written about towing mirrors. I'm interested in whether any one has tried the 03 power flip up mirrors on a 2nd gen truck. I realize the electrical is not a direct plug but can the mirrors physically fit?

Powervision is a possibility, as are the X-mount but I like the asthetics of the OEM and want to maintain the power control of my 95 truck if possible.

Thanks for any thoughts!

I have a buddy with a set of towing mirrors that are 10 inch by 10 inch use the stock power and heater connection and extend out 12 inches they mount just like stock and look great. In the last issue of TDR they put a set on a truck in the new products section. For the life me I can't remember the name so check the last issue you will like them.

I have power vision mirrors and love them. They are great, only think that i did nt like was that the fact that the passenger side mirror of not convex and i had to add a small wedge mirror to get a good look at my blind spot. They are pricey and take a good day to install if you are handy. CHeck Woodland RV (i think) center on line they usually have good prices.

As for the 3rd gens mirrors on a 2nd gen truck, I think I heard that they will not fit, but i'm not positive.

A few members have made the '03 mirrors fit on a pre-'03 truck. It involves two sets of mirrors and switching the heads and bases around.

I have read a cpl posts saying that I need TWO sets of mirrors. If I already have heated power mirrors on my 99, all I need to get is the 03's and spare time? Am I getting this right? The extra set of mirrors is for those that don't have heated power on thiers?

My wife is VERY insistant that I get some wide mirrors on this thing soon! The Crashler dealer was waiting for some new catalogue to come out the last cpl weeks assuming that there would be a kit available due to so much request, but she chacked back toaday and it was a no-go.

My wife bought this truck off the lot. Can anyone tell me why on Gods green Earth anyone would ever think to order a duelly truck with Gremlin mirrors on it?

I would also like to see what the aftermarket has available. Hopefully I can find some links on some other threads soon. ?? Which have folks liked better, the 03 stockers (I have no idea what they look like) or some flavour of aftermarket?

OK, from some reading elsewhere, I WOULD need to buy a second set of TOWING mirrors as the towing mirrors use a diff base than non-towing models? I was assuming that the first set had to be heated/power.

Please confirm?

EDIT:

BTW, I checked that link and all I find is auto darkening and signal mirrors. Not towing mirrors. ??? And you say that I am close, but I can't find anything on that site (quickly anyhow) that tells where they are. Is it a secret?

EDIT 2:

Does anyone have any trouble with the ones from Geno's vibrating?

The new Dodge ones (I found a pic) look wider than the Geno's ones? Or not?

How big are the new Dodge ones? Are they small but wide making them look wider and not giving as much view? How much $ would be invested if I was to buy two sets of mirrors from Dodge? I think I read $196 for the first set, but how much then for the powered/heated ones on top of that?

Would I be happier with the Geno's?
