I wanted to pass along to everyone that my miss is finally gone. Long story but the dealer finally installed new injectors and tubes and the miss is gone. Again, this was a miss only at idle that developed as the truck warmed.

Hopefully this will provide some info to those that are having the same problem.

David, I assume this was all covered under warranty. Do you know if there is a recall on the injector tubes?

They replaced the injector tubes after I showed them the TSB on early 98's. They sent my injectors to Bosch for testing and they came back with pop off pressures that were off. They also said they had carbon build up. Anyway, they installed new injectors, tubes, and some seals in the fuel lines (not sure which ones)

Warranty covered this repair. Was difficult to find the problem. I had a new VP44, lift pump, APPS, with no avail.

Good luck,

David,

I have the exact same idle problem! Exactly as you describe in your 3/9/00 post! My truck is sitting at the dealer right now. I am so glad I found your post. I will fax this page to the dealer to give him direction. I have 75,000 miles on mine and first noticed the hot idle miss about a month ago. A check of the low pressure side revealed a bad lift pump (I replaced it and now my fuel gauge works for the first time in two years, but the miss persists). I was afraid it was the VP44 as I near the end of my warranty.

The TSB for the fuel supply tubes to the injectors applies only to '98. 5 24 engines prior to engine serial number 56462592. TSB 14-01-98 Rev. A (dated 07-17-98) is the applicable correction.
