A couple months ago Ithought I felt my truck skip or miss while idling. It is very random and if someone else was driving probably would have gone unnoticed. Truck runs fine, no smoke or noises,no change in mileage, just sometimes when you come to a stop you can feel a shake through the shifter . [5 speed]You feel it more than hear it. It is getting more frequent. No check engine light. Can there be a code without the light being set? I've read of people using sea foam to try to clean injectors. Where is this found and any other cleaner that I can try without harming anything. Any theories or suggestions on things to check are greatly appreciated.

TRoberts,

I have had the same issue and have used Sea Foam in the past. It is available at Wal-Mart and most auto parts stores. I add it to about a 1/4 tank of fuel then drive the truck aggressively for the remainder of the tank. I also run a mixture of Power Service and Marvel Mystery Oil (both available at Wal-Mart) at each fillup. Recently, I have noticed mine haveing a more frequent rough idle and slight puff of blue smoke on cold startup. I researched online and everything pointed to injectors. I don't ever tow much but last weekend I cut a load of firewood and loaded my truck bed to the top of the cab and a 5x8 dump trailer heaped up. I drove about 40 miles and crossed a mountain to get home with this load. Once I unloaded truck and trailer, I have been driving it and guess what; no blue smoke at startup and idles as smooth as the day I brought her home. Also, it is so much peppier it honestly feels like a new truck. I had no idea it was that bad. Most guys on here will tell you to load it down and run a tank through. That definitely worked for me.

That's right! Best medicine out there for carboned-up injectors. Also, Valvoline injector cleaner, available at Geno's... . good stuff.
