Miss my 1st gens.

I was always a 1st gen guy, having owned several over the years. A couple of years ago I broke down and bought a 3rd gen truck, and have regretted it ever since. My 2008 just turned 30,000 miles last week, and already I've had to do the clutch (dual-mass flywheel failure at 22k miles, NOT covered by warranty), BOTH batteries, numerous mysterious no-starts, 3 factory recalls, anti-theft unit stopped working (when you use the "unlock" button on the key, the truck won't start), an exhaust brake that works sometimes, and now to top things off, the water pump is leaking... Long story short, I wish I had kept my 1st gen instead of "moving up".

must be a bunch of bad luck, because i never have any problems... ... . not saying my truck is perfect... but i just pushed over 60,000 and still runs great

It's not just me with the bad luck, I have several friends who have had their fair share of problems with the 3rd gen trucks too... I have a friend who had a 2007. 5, he sold it after six months because it wasn't reliable. It had an intermittent no-start problem that Dodge couldn't figure out. I have another friend with a 2006, his dual-mass flywheel failed at 32k miles. TDR member PFranzese has a 2009, his water pump failed at 42k miles... Two water pump failures, two dual-mass flywheel failures, and numerous no-starts in three trucks, all with less than 45k miles tells me it's more than just bad luck... And all these trucks were/are stock, no tuners, no egr deletes, no nitrous etc.
