My truck hass been a nightmare lately. First I spun #1 rod bearing due to lack of oil pressure. After 1 week of hard work, the motor was replaced. Then 300 miles later the trans would not hold in 2nd gear. two days later an ats trans with converter, cooler and controller were installed. 800 miles later under accel the expansion plug on the back of the block blew out. shut the truck down and got it back to the shop. assuming i blew a head gasket, i pulled the head and found no signs of a blown head gasket. Took the head to ats and the cheif at ats informed me that when more power is added on the hpcr motor the coolant build up pressure too fast and can blow out the plugs in the block. the fix, drill a bypass in the t-stat. I reassembled the head, installing head studs just to be safe. now it sounds as if i have no compression when cranking and when it does start, it smokes HEAVY and does not have enough power to move. I did a cylinder balance test by disconnecting injectors to find that #3 and #5 were not contributing. scanned the computer and had a p0341. Yesterday I did a complete test from the trouble tree in alldata on the cam sensor and the harness and found no problems. I checked all pushrods and rockers. Unfortunatly i do not have a compression tester, yet. I sounds as if it is out of time and/or no compression. Please help me I am at my wits end and this is the only forum i trust to help me out.
