I was driving home the other day and my truck started puffing blue/white smoke and had no power then it stalled. I restarted it and drive it 10 miles same problem but it would not restart. I pushed the plunger several times and it started. Once home I changed the fuel filter and pre filter. It drove better but would loose power around 2200 and cut down to 1000 and pick back up and drive great. I drove it to work yesterday and it drove fine. In the morning I started it to warm up and it cranked but did start. While warming up it died. In order to get it restarted I had to again plunge the lift pump and it restarted then ran like crap smoking no power it died. I had it towed installed a new lift pump and same trouble. Oh once and a while I hear a ticking sound coming from the area of the lift pump God forbid the injector pump. Any help will be greatly appreciated

Maybe its sucking in air someplace? (Like a bad hose at the rear of the pump-- A PIA to replace) Bad overflow valve? Maybe try giving the spring a stretch and put it back in.

replaced all fuel lines, new fuel filter, lift pump, cleaned pre filter and it was the overflow valve on the top of the pump. . Oo.
