Back in 1996 I bought my first Cummins powered truck. Since then it's been the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned. It's towed my winter home to Arizona every year with never a problem. That's where I am right now. The reason I have mixed feelings is I've ordered a new 2005 Dodge 3500 4x4 and I am wondering if it will be as reliable as my present truck. I'm not trading in this one and I'll be keeping it until I have all the appropriate goodies installed on the new one and it proves itself. After that my "baby" will be looking for a new home. I hope it goes to someone who will appreciate it. Those that like fine machinery as much as I do will understand what I mean. If someone is looking for a really good tow vehicle, watch the TDR classifieds next Spring. It's only got 97K on it now and should be around 100K when I put it up for sale.

Let me know when it is for sale. My 94 has over 300k and I am looking to replace it, I don't think I want 24valve I am not crazy about computers running the motor. The only time my truck has ever failed me is after dodge did warranty work on it.

Ron,

I wouldn't worry about the new truck being reliable, the new motor is great but it just isn't like them 12v's. Its too quiet, doesn't smoke near enough and doesn't get the fuel mileage that a 12er gets. Don't get me wrong my new one tows unbelievably well and has tons of power, even stock but I just can't give up my 12's ;)
