mixing oils

I was wondering if there would be a problem mixing synthetics and regular oils. I just changed my oil and didn't switch over to a lighter weight cause the temps hadn't really dropped and I have oil pan heaters, but overnight the temps dropped about 60 degrees and went from about 20 above to about 25 below zero. So, If I change the oil now and the filter, I will have wasted that filter. If I don't switch the filter, will there be any negative side effects of the dino oil in the filter mixing with the synthetic? I think I am going to use Delvac 1, 5w40. I see that it is recommended by many. I don't know that much about oils so your expertise is greatly appreciated.

If you go to their website I believe you'll read that there is no problem whatsoever with mixing synthetic with dino.
