I've heard of a few people mixing their used engine oil with their diesel fuel. Does anyone know the long term effects of doing this. I always have a lot of waste oil. It would be nice to be able to do this.

Look & maybe search in the alternate fuel forum about it,as long as you filter & don't use much more than 2-gallons pr tank your ok,otherwise it'll start smoking. I know this for a fact :-laf :-laf

I bought an 01 3500 new and have burned the used oil from each oil change since new. I use DELO 15/40 and the truck has 215,000 miles. Never any engine problems but have had one lift pump go bad at around 122,00 miles. Have run an EDGE EZ from new and added EDM 2's and HX35/40 about 2 years ago.

I have a friend that has run it 100% mind u this is in a california hot summer

95 and up he also has a t p filter yes toilet paper ,

smoked a bit at idle but not what u would expect he has also ran deep fryer oil

smells groovy... lots of filtering... don't try with out checking into

some good filters

I just added 1 gallon to a 15 gallons of diesel and no effects. over 1000 miles since adding 3 gallons to a full tank. no problems, little more smoke, no big deal :)

Been burning 10% for the last couple months. So far so good. More than that and the power seems to go down more than I like. Also with the weather fluctuating I worry about the thickness of the oil in the tank on colder days. I get a little more smoke at idle when cold and more smoke at WOT. You really need a little extra boost and tweak the star wheel on P7100 pump to run WO to compensate for the slight power loss. Side benefiet is my MPG is up slightly while I am saving $10 a tank.
