Competition Common turbos - CFM and Horsepower...

I went on Rose Garden Hill trail on Big Saturday and when I got to the lineup, the trail leader told me that there were two vehicles that from his list had given him a little concern as to their capability to make the trail. After seeing them both he was less concerned. One was my CTD https://www.turbodieselregister.com...ty-front-bumper-ranch-hand-2.html#post1910307

and the other was the 78 Ramcharger of fellow TDR member Trenton.

It is always a blast lining up with a bunch of jeeps and running a fullsized truck! Neither of our trucks had trouble getting up the hill. One jeep broke a driveshaft and didn't even make it to the main hill. One jeep tried for most of my lunch break to make the first obstacle on the hill and then finally gave up.

if it was not so busy and the cops on a rampage that week, i'd love to make it to EJS sometime. But I'd rather go when its less busy and i can spend more time wheeling than waiting all queued up and no place to go

We gun a couple of trails the first two days, then we spend our time out in the boonies away from the established trials and all the madness. There are thousands of miles to explore in that part of the country without seeing a soul.

We ran the Rose Garden Hill with the safari, gene day was trail leader.

TDR'r TVLarsen lead a few of us on Hell's Revenge on Monday with his RC. Had a great time! I love showing the $$$ rigs where to go with an old Dodge CTD. (good spotting and long wheelbase are real handy)

Hey Ken, I just noticed this thread. Cool pics. The Cummins surprised a lot of people, made the XJ's look silly on Rose Garden hill. :-laf

Here's a few more pics.

Jason, there are always people who complain about the cops during EJS. I've been going to Safari for 6 years, there are more cops there during the event, as anyone should expect, but they keep a very low profile. I only know one person that's ever been pulled over, but he was in a full tube buggy (no plate, no insurance, not street legal). I've only seen the cops pull over people that are racing, "dragging" main, speeding, drinking, or are driving a blatantly illegal rig (like the tube buggy). Where I live in Utah, I would quickly get a ticket for no mudflaps on my Ramcharger, but in Moab, even during Safari, the cops don't care. That's why the flaps are pinned on. ;)

You've been to Moab before, the cops aren't any worse during Safari, there are just more cops and more idiots.

Like I said, there are always people who complain about the cops, but some people are just cop magnets.
