370's vs Honed 370's

How is this type of oil? I have seen many posts about different oils and I am not trying to to open a can of worms, but I can get this oil @ A GOOD DEAL, so the ones who have used it do you like the oil better than what you were using before or not? I am currently using premium blue, 15-40w thanks for the input! :D

Mobil Delvac 1 is an excellent Group 4 (PAO - polyalphaolefin base stock) synthetic oil. If you can get a "short deal" on it, your truck will love it! ;)

I've used it for 25 years with no failures. More than a dozen different vehicles. Chevy, Ford, Cummins, and Dodge.

A 92 Dakota has 294,000 miles, all original 5. 2.

I figure if a 5. 2 can go that far, the Cummins will take it another 1,000,000!!!!!!!!!!

It is a very, very good oil. A deal IMHO would be anything less than $4/quart (Wally World around here sell it for $20 for a 5 quart container).

Are you referring to the Delvac 1300 Super, which is non-synthetic, or the synthetic version? I have used the regular grade 15w-40 since the truck is new, now at 55k miles, with no problems. They also have a new design on the spout, way better than before. Also replaced that problematic foil cover with a pull out cover. Way to go Mobil.

Jengle,

Where are you getting the Delvac 1300 Super with the new design spout and without the troublesome foil? It has been a month since I've bought it but the last 4-gallon case I bought from Costco still had the foil. I HATE the foil!!

Thanks!

Walmart has it. They also stock the Mobil synthetic, but I didn't look at it, since I don't use that. I'll look next time to see if the spout is the same. First time I have added oil to the truck and not spilled a drop, even without using a funnel.
