3.91 gears for Dana 70?

Road tested.. what still works or not?

Mobile 1 does not have the ratings required for our cummins engines. It is a gasoline rated oil. Stick with Delo or if you want to go synthetic go to amsoil or one of the synthetics offered by chevron or texaco for diesel trucks.

You can also use Union 76 Royal Triton. About 56 bucks for 6 gallons up here in Fairbanks. It is a semi synthtic. My engine oil pan was dropped at 98,000 and the mechanic said that he couldn't tell the difference from a new one it was so clean. Had nothing but Royal all 150,000 miles except once when I tried Rottella.

I can buy Delvac here for $21 a gallon off the shelf. Case prices are a bit better. Depends on where you are and how hard you look.

answers to your questions...

Yes, Mobil 1 is a great oil, but only for gasoline engines. The one you need for diesels is Mobil Delvac 1-- a very expensive, quality oil.

BTW-- the only real oil requirement for our engines is the CH-4 rating.

Whether it is worth the money is your decision. There are many people on here that feel strongly both ways. What it really boils down to is whether or not you have and are willing to spend the money.

It's not whether synoil is better or not; it's CLEARLY a superior oil, as far as lubrication and such goes. The debate is whether or not it is cost effective. Some claim it is, some claim it isn't. There are instances of each.

For me, I want the very best oil I can get my hands on, and I don't care what it costs IF i have the money for it.

It's what IN the bottle, not on the label that counts. .

710 the best quality

Yes Mobil OIL, 710 is worth is by far What you want is the DELVAC 5W/40 . This is a diesel engine oil and takes the heat in the summer and the cold in the winter. According to the reports years ago about 8 to 10% better then conventional oil this equates to better luberication on startups and less engine wear for someago one of the oil makes tested their oil at -40 and found that 15W/40 took about 90 seconds and it was not through the engine and the 5W/40 was through in 12 seconds. The film of oil is thinner but protects better!!!! For years I have been using syn when the engine is broken in. Change the filters fill them with oil and spin them on. I do this and put about 40,000 KMS on the oil before changing the oil again. Yes I have had it annalized several time and always comes back good for continued use. Were can you get good oil for $2. 50 $2. 75 a liter?? Better tighten up any oil leaks in the engine though for it will find them enjoy the 8- 10 % better milage you should use it in your diff and X-fer case as well and you have to add the friction modifier as well.
