I'm not quite sure what these are called, but my 01 had black rubber molding strips mounted horizontally along the bottom-middle of both the main and QC doors.

These things looked nice and prevented most door dings.

Does anyone know if such a thing is available for the 3G trucks?

Thanks all.

David

I think Geno's garage sells a roll so you can make it yourself.

I credit that rub strip with saving my 99 from door dings. Its a just the right height.

My '03 did not come with the side moulding so I figured I would go to the dealer and just order it. I went to the dealer and they said they needed my VIN to order the moulding as there were many different ones, I gave them my VIN and there was no side moulding for it, because it did not come with it, so they said they did not know what to order. I then went out on the lot and found a truck with the side moulding I wanted, copied the VIN brought it in and they were able to order it, I have the PN in my truck I can get them for you if you are interested. I think the problem with the VIN is because you can get the moulding body color. The moulding I got is black, my truck is green, pricey about $140 for the four pieces, one on each door. It was a piece of cake to install, it's really nice stuff, I could not find anything at the autoparts stores that was as thick or wide.

These are the PN I have on my invoice.

55077174-AD Molding F 23023032 $37. 25 each

55077172-AD Molding R 23023032 $32. 25 each

the top one is the for the front doors the bottom one is for the rear doors. These are molded black like the covering on the rear bumper not gloss black, which I think you could get as the molding is available in body colors.

Put it on? Heck I just took mine off. Now I just angle park in two spots:D I know, I'm an @$$

But personally I like the clean, smooth finish of not having it on there. Just MHO.

I have the Nice Clean lines of the Black Sport... . However, wanting to keep it that way I ordered the gloss black Body side Moulding from the dealer. I paid around $90. 00, but I got 10% over dealer cost... ... ... . Just TOO big and flat of side to not have p[rotected from some A$$ who is inconsideate and opens his door with his foot into side of truck. The wifes Durango got it soo bad in the rr door, that it compressed the moulding AND dented the door above the moulding... Jerks in Parking lots:mad:

I just picked the truck up from the dealer. Molding looks great, and I don't worry about the acre or so of sheet metal down there anymore. My dealer charged me the same as Bertram65's did.

I had wheel well liners done, too.

Thanks all.

Mine came with the door guards. Now does anyone know if they are making the kit for the side of the bed??

Source?

Does anyone know of a source of replacement body side moulding for my 1996 CC? Any style is OK, and I *greatly prefer* the pre-cut stuff. Any idea of what dealer replacements would cost?
