Does anyone know if there is a way to monitor if the truck goes into regen mode using torque pro or torque lite? (Is it a super secret PID?)

Interested myself. I know that I can get notification on an Edge CTS JWA. I used to have a bluetooth OBD2 dongle... it would be nice to have that feature again without using the Edge.

I watch EGTB1S1 to EGTB1S4. During regen S3 and 4 will be over 1000° while the others are in the 600-800 range. Hottest I've seen my S4 was about 1250° during regen on a 115° day.
I also like seeing the drop across the intercooler (IAT vs CACT)
I have Torque Pro and Torque Scan (free with pro, but separate download). Installed it on my old Tab A 7" and looks great with a custom background :)

Seeing the data is good, but I was actually hoping / expecting this would be a simple binary test - it either is, or it isn't

Do you have custom PID's set up or are your current gauges using standard built in from Torque Pro? I've got Torque Pro on my phone but HATE a small screen. Looking for a decent 8" or 10" real android tablet (not a knock off) to install Torque Pro on but damn the prices are getting higher by the day. (LOL)

FCA is pretty secretive about their PIDs from what I gather. I've not found one that shows regen as a binary. It's pretty obvious on the EGT B1S1 to B1S4 differential, though.

That screen cap was from my S8+. I also have a Samsung Tab A 8" with the app and a magnet mount for in my Jeep (just another profile in the app) that works awesome. The tablet is only wifi, but has GPS. I just download the maps I want (wheeling and gold prospecting) for my Topo Maps Pro app at home and go.
Theyre $169 on the Samsung store, but i got mine from work reward points... only cost a little bit of my soul :)
The mount is this...

If your Willing to spend a little bit of money ($400) the Edge Insight 2 Monitor shows all the EGT 1-4 and has a REGEN On/off PID also so you can see when it first starts and when it ends for sure. On the positive side Edge makes an unlock cable for like 30-40 dollars if you ever wanna add a tuner or delete your truck so the unit becomes useful for other things. I was impressed that this unit also shows transmission line pressure too. Sorry for going off topic but, maybe this will help. Good luck either way.

Finally got to see an active regen this morning on my way to work on Torque Pro.

EGT1 was mostly mid 600's
EGT2 & 3 were 900-1100
EGT4 was maybe 100 degrees cooler than EGT3

I was using surface streets, so I set my top gear to either 3rd or 4th gear - to keep the RPMs about 1500 while it did its' thing. It completed and came back to mid 500's before I got to work. I may still get an Edge Insight - but I confirmed I can see what I wanted to see with Torque Pro.

Already had a 10" tablet - cost $0
Torque Pro app - $5
ODB-II dongle - $9
Total cost $14 (vs $420)

I do the same with OBD Fusion app on my iPhone. Works great.

Were the PIDs already in Torque Pro or did you have to create custom ones? I haven't had a chance to browse around mine yet.

Thanks..
Now looking for an Android tablet so I can actually see the app instead of using my phone.. DAMN those critters sure jumped in price.

I have a Samsung TabA 7". It's WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS, only. They're about $160 on Samsung site, but can be had cheaper. Works great for me with the Torque app and cached maps for mavigation.

The PIDs for EGTB1S1 (thru S4) are already in Torque Pro

OK,, was gifted a Tab 2 7" and got Torque Pro downloaded and started setting up gauges. When I selected the EGTB1S1 - S4, they all show in *C. I'm like WTF?? I have all standard setting in Torque app set up for MPH, PSI, *F, etc but don't get why the gauges show *C... Any thoughts? What did I miss? Thanks in advance.

From the main startup screen, hit the setup menu button in the lower corner. Select settings. Select units. Uncheck the Celsius box

Did you setup the EGT gauges from the "Realtime Information" icon, or are you looking at it from the "Torque Scan" mode (list of data, with green highlighted sensors)?

If I remember correctly, in Torque Scan it reads in C....but this isn't where you'd setup the gauges you want displayed for use anyway....you need to set these up in one of the "Realtime Information" screens, that is where it would reflect your choice of C or F.

Yes, I believe so. That is the only way to show in the added profile. Yes, I also set it in the general setting and in the profile gauge settings.. Doesn't make any sense as on my phone, once I change the Don't use *C in the basic settings, all settings were then *F. Weird.. Maybe after I plug it in it might figure itself out.. Thanks for your help.. Appreciate it.

This DPF: Status PID seems to work.

It reads up to 100%. On my way to work yesterday, I am seeing the value getting close to 100%. It was reading 99.6% as I was 1/4 mile from the parking lot, but then looked again and the value dropped to 78%, and within about 100 yards, I see the EGT gauges going up. I was already pulling in to work, so I would wait until after work to see what that gauge does during a regen.

The freeway isn't far from the office. The engine temp was just getting warm enough as I got on the freeway and I saw a regen start up. As the regen ran, I could see the DPF Status gauge come down. When the regen was finished, the status gauge had gotten down around 30%.

If this is any indication, whatever this gauge is measuring, it seems to be the trigger to start a regen cycle when it hits 100%.

OK,, got to hook it up and run it the other day. Once connected the gauges that were showing *C are now showing *F and appear to be correct. I set up all 4 EGT gauges for the heck of it. I was going to shoot a screen shot but the Mrs said it was dinner time. Can't keep her waiting. (LOL) I'll snap a pick of the screen next time I get a chance.. I think I've got a calibration issue on the DPF and one other one but otherwise everything looks good. Many thanks!
