Finished the install today - thanks to you who offered tips.
I will say that the shocks took a lot of the road hop out. I travel 1 mile of rutted gravel to get to 5 miles of "hopppy" asphalt to get to town.
I haven't had any experience with any other shock so I can't compare. I will say that I am pleased with with this choice.

Those are the shocks I put on about 90K miles ago. Still going strong and a BIG improvement over the stockers. The truck rides good and handles well. No more bump "echos". Hard to beat that!

Those are the shocks I'm putting on as soon as the $ frees up a little bit. I'm going with the load levelers (the one's with the coil spring wrapped around them) on the back. It seems like it doesn't take much weight to make the truck squat.

Had the load levelers on mine for about a year, they worked fine with a load but raised the rear end about two inches when empty and alot stiffer ride. went back to regular gas shocks on the rear (Gabriel)the ride is much better. If your heavy most of time than its probably a good idea.

Has anybody had these and the Rancho 5 speed shocks on the same vehicle ?
A little comparison would be nice, can't say I'm all that crazy about those Ranchos anymore.

Hmmmm, wonder if there's a better option. Last time I checked, they don't offer any air shocks for the truck, and I never fully trusted air shocks anyway. Kinda trying to have my cake and eat it too, I guess, but like I said, when you load it, it squats easier than any 3/4ton I've ever owned.

Dan, re; truck squat. If you don't have the tow package and overload springs - that might be a better option. The overloads don't get used until you load, consequently they don't stiffen the ride. 900# tongue weight doesn't make my truck squat at all.
