I just put my third set of shocks on my truck(OE, Monroe Sensatracks, now Monroe Reflex) Truck has 205000 miles. The stockers lasted about 35k miles. The Sensetracks have given up the ghost, started wearing the tires wierd. Not bad for over 100k miles. If I still had the receipt, Monroe says they would have replaced them. I went with the new Reflex. Got the buy three get one free deal. 37. 00 bucks apeice. BIG diff in ride. Firm but not brutal. Wife even likes it better. The Reflex are lifetime warranty. I'll keep the receipt this time.

I went through 2 sets of Monroe shocks and decided to junk them and go with Bilstein frt. , Rancho 9000 adjustables rear. That works great.

The Monroes kept leaking the oil out.

I had some Monroes on my old '82 F-250 that I used to have. Have no idea how many miles were on them when I bought the truck, undoubtedly alot. When I replaced them, I had 2 that were completely empty of any oil (absolutly no resistance) and one that was stuck solid with a bent rod. Replaced them with Gabriel gas shocks. MUCH better.

I switched to Rancho shocks on my 86 Ford a few years ago. One of them failed. The weld broke on one of the attachment eyes. I tried to get Rancho to replace it under thier warranty. Boy did they give me a hastle! Never did get it replaced, So I bought Gabriels. They lasted a good while. The Monroe Sensatraks I just took off did not leak, they lost the ability to dampen(i guess). For the price and the fact that most shocks are ready to go at 50 or 60 thousand miles anyway, I went with the Monroes.

A friend just gave me some PRO COMP's for the rear... I am going to install them tomorrow and see how they ride... . hopefully not too stiff... . I have Gabriel Shocks under there, and have been on there since I bought the truck in april 2000, with 84,700 miles on it... I am now almost at the 200k mark! anyways, I am going to see how they ride, and will give a report card soon!
