I took my 6 and 7 year old to their first monster truck show tonight. Big eyes and all smiles(the kids too
)! There were 2 Dodge trucks, Raminator & Ramunition, 2 Fords, Bigfoot & Big Dawg, and 1 Chevy, Nightmare. All put on a good show. Pretty impressive watching one of those things doing donuts in a small indoor arena. Had quad racing and these guys doing freestyle jumping on dirt bikes. Now that's something to see! Also had a guy with a 800lb Jeep body with a 1500hp jet engine. Talk about LOUD! It was pretty impressive too.
I can still remember seeing my first monster truck. Dad took us to an indoor truck and tractor pull in Omaha back in the early '80s. I think the name of the thing was Sampson or Son of something or other. It was a red Dodge(I think) with tractor tires. Drove up on 2 old cars and stopped. We all thought that was the coolest thing! That 's a lot different than now!
