Hello - I have 180,000 on my stock steering linkage and it time to replace it all. I am torn between Moog and Raybestos Pro Grade. Dose anyone have experience with either? I have put the Moog track bar on the truck and I was impressed with it. So I am leaning toward the Moog. Any Thoughts?

Also my truck in a 2002, Ram 2500, 4x4, with the HO 5. 9 Cummins. Strictly a stock ride with over sized tires 285/75/16 Cooper STT. Oo.

I like the Moog (1st choice) or Napa premium. I only have experience with Raybestos brake products. Raybestos is known for quality stuff. Just don't go cheap. I took apart some new Auto Zone economy tie rod ends for a project I was working on to add Luke's Links. The economy tie rod ends were not even real ball joints. They were a half moon joint with a spring in the back. They were very low quality. Hope this helps. Good luck.

I would personally stick with the Moog or lukes link on a budget for a 2nd gen direct replacement track bar. I will be putting in a Moog very soon myself.

If you want to drop money and never worry about the track bar again go 3rd Gen style track bar/bracket or an adjustable Thuren bar.

Moog makes OK tierod ends. Their Ball Joints ... . Well they might be ok for a Gasser truck but in our Diesels they flat out suck. They can't handle the weight. My choice is Carli or Dynatraxx, however there is another company (I can't remember the name but they had advertised in the TDR) that looks like they've copyed the Carli design I guess time will tell if they are any good. I've had really good luck with the Johnson Towers linkage that Dodge sells as the 08 update. I've got over 90,000 miles on the kit and it is as tight as the day it went in. And the kit does not have grease fittings and it's held up well. Well worth the money.

Check out these links. I think you will find that the upgrade will fit or at least the 2010+ steering upgrade will. Some of the threads are confusing as diferent year trucks are being talked about but I think by the time you read through them it will be apparent that the 00's ,01's and 02's can benfit from the upgrade with no problems. Well thats what I came away with anyway when I ran across them not long ago. Once the weather warms up here I am moving forward with it.

Thanks for the information but I still see some comments about it rubbing the inside of a stock 16” rim. I think that's why the dealer has states it's not for the 2002 or earlier models. I believe that in 2003 Dodge went to a stock 17” rim. Since the upgraded (t- type) is a larger diameter, it needs the additional room in the rim. Just my ten cents. Its just my thoughts and I haven't tried the upgrade yet. But that's why I have been holding out on my stock 2002.
