I guess I should have been more clear. The second and third pitman arm joints I had did come with the zerk in them. Greased the first replacement every 3K miles with a super moly chassis grease and it was shot after 20K miles. The third is nearly shot again now after being greased with a super synthetic chassis grease, it has about 35K miles on it.
Greaseable joints make very little if any difference in the longevity of the joints. The sealed joints have all had grease in them when they failed on my truck. Bottom line is this, the steering on our trucks is not designed well. It is weak, and undersized. Either put parts on that can be adjusted to take up the wear, or re-do it with bigger and stronger parts if you can. I would prefer the bigger and stronger method, but I have not been able to find the parts that would be needed. The front end needs a re-design to hold up for longer than a typical warranty period.
All of the above applies to the trackbar, tie rod ends and ball joints as well in my experience. The steering box is worse yet, but the subject of another thread.
