Nothing, we were sidelined.
Well here's the beans on what happened last night for those of you who weren't there, or were there and couldn't hear crap over those blasted gassers.
This winter Glenn Stoner and I went an MTPA meeting to find out if we could get a regular MTPA class. We ran into an Insurance Brick Wall (IBW). At that point in time the insurance folks for the MTPA felt that we needed FULL safety gear as "modified" trucks. But Jack Reed (the Sled Directer of MTPA-owner of Predator) promised to run "our" rules by the ins. company see what we could get done. I didn't think he could get the safety rules relaxed.
Then some weeks later I hear from Glenn (I think) that we will not have a class, BUT will be allowed to pull after the MTPA event is over and their banners are down. This is the information I was relying on last night before Glenn showed up.
I had not had further conversation with Jack or Glenn. I had asked Chris Stoner (in email) "how's the MTPA treating yall" because I knew they had pulled. I got no reply. Thanks Chris.
Glenn shows up last night and the first thing out of his mouth is "Are they gonna let us pull?"
So I go straight to Jack and get the rest of the story.
It turns out that Jack had gone to the ins. co and put up a fight for us and got the safety rules dropped down to ONLY TWO THINGS. 1. Kill switch, 2. Harmonic balancer sheild/guard.
I did not know this before 6pm last night. Glenn did. Thanks Glenn. :-{}
If I'd known that on Wednesday, I'd been pulling last night and the Stoners could have watched. :-laf
The way I understand it from conversations last night with Jack, this all came to a head at Belvidere. The Stoners showed up and "demanded" to pull. Jack told them no, they must have the safety equipment (which they knew about) for liability coverage when hooked to his sled. They kept on and did get to pull under the insurance coverage of the local promoters. Jack was not happy with their attitude.
Note: Jack doesn't wear a crown, but he is King of the track where MTPA is pulling, and it's good to keep him happy.

He and I ended our final coversation last night with a handshake and an implied promise from me that I won't ask to hook to his sled without safety equipment again.
Now, why did Mooretown VFW not have insurance that would cover us as the Belvidere track did? Because they were relying on the MTPA coverage--which only extends to MTPA classes. Michael George, the head of the Mooretown VFW pulls, tried to contact our county executive last night to get us some coverage, but couldn't get him on the phone. The point is that he tried.
Jack Reed and Michael George are good guys. I let you make up your own mind on some of the others.
I apologize to everybody for not being better informed. And will have safety equipment soon.
Mark led the posse to get refunds for the gate fee. :-laf Thanks Mark.
Most of us stayed and cheered like heck for the smoker tractors. And we smoked the crowd a time or two with our trucks. :-laf
