I just received my oil analysis report and it agreed with a report from a friend's CTD that indicates that the Mopar oil is NOT Valvoline Premium Blue recommended by Cummins. Now I know Dodge does not claim the oil is Premium Blue and Cummins does not require Premium Blue, but I and everyone I know assumed that it was Valvoline Premium Blue. The additive package is less robust than Premium Blue.

I also assumed that Mopar Oil was Valvoline Premium Blue with a different label. There's that Felix Unger bad word again, LOL! DC would have to be pretty f'n stupid to use substandard oil and label it as Mopar OEM oil. While it may not be Premium Blue, it had better be half-way decent or DC will be looking at some warrantee claims they'll have to pay instead of Cummins. Regardless, I'm stuck using it as I bought 100K worth of dealer oil changes directly from DC for $15/shot and I'm not throwin' my coupon book away just yet, LOL!

I don't mean to imply that the oil is substandard or does not meet the CI-4 requirements, but the Mopar oil does not have boron and molybdenum, and the levels of phosphorus and zinc are lower than Valvoline Premium Blue.

Valvoline does make a 15W40 oil that is not "premium blue" ... could this be what mopar puts in them? I know from past vehicles that the dealer I went to used valvoline oils. I also know some have used penzoil as well.
