Service manual for my '02 states that +4 ATF is to be used for the transfer case.

Local dealer wants $34/gallon for Mopar +4. Is this stuff synthetic or just overpriced?

I've seen Redline ATF priced at $33 gallon. Not sure if it's the 9602 standard or not, but at least it's synthetic.

I'm just a guy off the street and am paying $27/ gal. at my dealer. The language on the jug, IMO, "implies" Mopar ATF+4 is a synthetic.

It's the newest, latest and greatest Auto transmission Fluid. I am not sure of the difference between ATF +3 and ATF +4 I just know that they are phasing out the +3.

I got 3 gallons to do my auto, got 3 different prices from the same dealer!

The lowest was the sales force running the parts counter on sat afternoon. Got it at the shop rate about $27.

Try different dealers, same stuff, different prices.

Ask for the price before you open your wallet!

ATF +4 is basically ATF+3 with friction modifier in it, the same stuff you put in your LSD rear axle. It is DCs way of eliminating TCC shudder in the transmissions with lock-up torque converters.
